This study is concerned with channel banks slopes in the middle sector of Al-Massab Al-Aam channel in the middle and south of Iraq. The geotechnical properties of soil in the channel banks including physical ,engineering, chemical and mineralogical characters in over (25) station have been studied.
The grain size distribution of the bank soils of channel showed that the clay percentage is higher than those of the silt and sand percentages.
The bank soils are classified according to the USCS standards. They are composed of clay with low plasticity (CL) that represents 88% of the soil and ,clay with high plasticity (CH)represents 12% of the soil. The saturated density values ranges between 1.679 and 1.953 g/cm3 with average value of

     During this paper, new Schiff's base derivatives [F₁-F₅] were prepared through the reaction of dapsone drug with different substituted benzaldehyde compounds. Schiff's bases were then converted into 2,3-dihyroquinazolin-4(1H)-one derivatives [F₆-F₁₀] through the reaction with 2-amino benzoic acid in ethanol. In this research study the effect of irradiation by (CW) CO2 laser on some optical properties of (Cds) doping by Ni thin films of (1)µm thickness has been prepared by heat evaporation method. (X-Ray) diffraction technique showed the prepared films before and after irradiation are ploy crystalline hexagonal structure, optical properties were include recording of absorbance spectra for prepared films in the range of (400-1000) nm wave lengths, the absorption coefficient and the energy gap were calculated before and after irradiation, finally the irradiation affected (CdS) thin films by changing its color from the Transparent yellow to dark rough yellow and decrease the value absorption coefficient also increase the value of energy gap.

Seventeen core samples were taken from Luhais and Tuba oil wells according to the presence of oil bearing formations. These wells were located in the province of Basra/southern Iraq.     A new chelate polymer (2-5-hydroxy-3-methyl-2- (3-nonyl benzene) imino) methyl) benzyl) 4-6-dimethyphenol] (K4) was prepared by using the condensation reaction method and identified by several techniques, including FT-IR, NMR, and atomic absorption spectroscopy, as well as TG-DTA thermal analysis. The kinetic equilibrium for the sorption of lead and cadmium ions on the chelate polymer surface was also investigated. The results showed that the sorption of both ions followed the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic equilibrium. The rate constant values of pseudo-first-order reaction  were equal to 0.062 and 0.057 min^-1  , while the values of pseudo-second-order were 0.0103 and 0.053 L.m
