...Show More Authors

The present study deals with some morphological and anatomical characteristics of the Nonea echioides(L.) Roem. & Sehult species belonging to Boraginaceae, which is recorded to have spread recently in Kurdistan region of Iraq.

This research focused on some of the important morphological characteristics of the stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits and comparing them with other studies of neighboring countries to Iraq. These morphological characteristics were found to be important in isolating the species of the filed. The anatomical features of the epidermis, stomata, and trichomes were also investigated. The study shows that Nonea echioides belongs to C3 plants based on the anatomical features of the leaf. In conclusion, the present study provided means for field identification and taxonomy of the plant.

Quantitative analysis and control of the torque profile of the upper limb using a kinetic model and motion measurements
...Show More Authors

This paper investigates a new approach to the rapid control of an upper limb exoskeleton actuator. We used a mathematical model and motion measurements of a human arm to estimate joint torque as a means to control the exoskeleton’s actuator. The proposed arm model is based on a two-pendulum configuration and is used to obtain instantaneous joint torques which are then passed into control law to regulate the actuator torque. Nine subjects volunteered to take part in the experimental protocol, in which inertial measurement units (IMUs) and a digital goniometer were used to measure and estimate the torque profiles. To validate the control law, a Simscape model was developed to simulate the arm model and control law in which measurem

A revolution called information revolution has recently invaded the world. It is Currently considered one of the most important properties of development to the countries of the world The criteria provided by computers such as accuracy, speed, time saving Storage and restore have led them to be widely used in economy, industry, agriculture, communications, etc., as well as being the major finder of reengineering the operations of innovation. The use of computers in the preparation of budgets will lead to achieve accuracy. Since, the operation draws upon the statistic and quantity estimations about budget items, the computerized balance sheet may save time and effort of preparing mathematical equations annually. According to the problem o

The Influence of The Kind of Feeding on The Average of Body Growth for The Infant of The Age (3-6) Months in Baghdad.City
...Show More Authors

This paper was conducted to identifying the body growth averages for the infants of the age (3-6) months and their relation with brest (natural ) or artificial feeding The results showed that the higher percentage was for the infants with the natural feeding in comparison with those of the artificial or mixed feeding. Also there was a clear increase in the average of the body growth for those with the natural feeding and such results were closer to the standard criterion. While the averages of body growth for those with the artificial or mixed feeding were low. In addition, it was clear that the averages of body growth of the i

The Impact of the Method of Dealing with the Product of Wars in the Continuity of the Crisis Wars. Beirut city as an Example
...Show More Authors

This research investigates the subject of the impact of wars (as a manifestation of crisis) on architecture, and the extent of continuing wars physical and moral results of wars, even after the end of the cause of the crisis. The impact of different rebuilding which exposed to the effects of the war seems different in crisis regions.

The problem of research is about the uncertainty of the impact of the way chooses for reconstructing the buildings after wars in the continuity of the crisis of war. The goals of this research are to clarify the influence of methods of reconstruction of buildings in a city chosen which is Beirut, on the continuation of the war crisis with the argument of demolishing and rebuilding newly or keeping tr

Characterization of flow cytometric immuno-phenotyping of acute myeloid leukemia with minimal differentiation and acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia: A retrospective cross-sectional study
...Show More Authors

Background: Acute leukemias (ALs) are a heterogeneous group of malignancies with various clinical, morphological, immunophenotypic, and molecular characteristics. Distinguishing between lymphoid and myeloid leukemia is often performed by flow cytometry. This study aimed to evaluate the immunophenotypic characterization and expression of immuno-markers in both acute myeloid leukemia (AML-M0) and acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL).

Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted in the Pathology Department/Teaching Laboratories/Medical City/Iraq and included all patients newly diagnosed with AL from 5 January to 10 December 2018. Immunophenotypic analysis wa

Calculation the affects of the sun, moon and satellite position on the perturbation forces of the low retrograde orbits
...Show More Authors

The actual position and velocity of the sun and the  moon were calculate through one year , and the satellite position and velocity components (x,y,z, vx, vy, vz) were calculate as well as the momentum component at inclination (116.5?) , argument of perigee (30?), longitude  node angle (40?), eccentricity (0.01), for deferent perigee height (200,300,..,1000 km). The acceleration of perturbations  which were calculated in this work are the sun and the moon attraction on the satellite, the solar radiation pressure, the atmospheric drag as well as the earth oblatness. The result show that the perturbation forces of atmospheric drag acceleration is effect by altitude and the sun, moon attractio

Experimental Study to The Effect of Applying Stressing Force on Etched Polarization Maintaining Fiber as Hybrid Fabry-Perot /Mach-Zehnder inline fiber interferometer
...Show More Authors

Abstract: The increased interest in developing new photonic devices that can support high data rates, high sensitivity and fast processing capabilities for all optical communications, motivates a pre stage pulse compressor research. The pre-stage research was based on cascading single mode fiber and polarization maintaining fiber to get pulse compression with compression factor of 1.105. The demand for obtaining more précised photonic devices; this work experimentally studied the behavior of Polarization maintaining fiber PMF that is sandwiched between two cascaded singe mode fiber SMF and fiber Bragg gratings FBG. Therefore; the introduced interferometer performed hybrid interference of both Mach-Zehnder

PDF Study the Effect of Nano Aluminum Oxide Coating on PMMA as Thermal Insulator: Dawood Obied Altiafy *, Hussien Ali Jawad, Noor Taha Ismaeel
...Show More Authors

Abstract: In the present work, the heat transfer of Nano Aluminum Oxide -NAO- has been studied practically to define the appropriate insulation conditions.  This study focuses on finding of the amount of heat transfer through a glass substrate that is coated with nanoalumina doped on PMMA matrix. The optical and thermal properties were systematically investigated. The density of heat flow rate, was calculated in the range values (240-260) W/m2 while the optimum values confine between (250-260) W/m2 at temp. (25-35)Co. The results showed that the thermal insulation of the sample was significantly enhanced at temp. (30-50)Co. The simulated net heat transfer through window decreased linearly with incr

Spatial Analysis of Relative Humidity and Its Effect on Baghdad City for The Years 2008, 2013 and 2018
...Show More Authors

Urbanization phenomenon did expand rapidly in Baghdad-Iraq due to security improvement and the human desire for daily services availability, where reducing the agricultural lands "Greenlands" negatively affected the climate rate. The relationship between urban expansion and relative humidity was studied from 2008 to 2018 using remote sensing data (satellite images of Landsat 5 and Landsat 8) and relative humidity rate data obtained from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). Data were processed and analyzed using ArcGIS v: 10.2. Results showed changes in human activities (land use (LU)) and urban areas, where increasing urbanization declines vegetation and turbulence climate. The study provides a signi
