Integration of Seismic Facies and Seismic Sequence analysis for Depositional Environment Reconstruction of nandy Field, Niger Delta

An integrated seismic sequence stratigraphy and facies analysis has been carried out with a view to understanding the depositional environment and stratal stacking pattern of Nandy Field of Niger Delta. Well logs and biostratigraphic information were used to identify the lithologies, stratal stacking patterns, stratigraphic surfaces, system tracts and reservoir potentials of the field. Seismic sequence stratigraphy and seismic reflection patterns were used to identify the seismic facies. Facies-related attributes were employed to identify the continuity and amplitude of seismic events. Three seismic facies packages and three reservoir sands were identified. The environments of deposition of the area consist of marginal marine to continental depositional settings predominantly made of shoreface deposits with few channel sands. The depositional model of the area shows that the deposition went down the axis of fluvial depositional system, which transports sediments through channels down to the shelf into the base of the slope down the basin. The seismic reflection patterns in this field are parallel to divergent reflections, high-continuity and high-amplitude facies, low-amplitude facies, low-continuity and variable-amplitude reflections, chaotic reflections and wavy reflection patterns. The seismic stratigraphic analysis of this field revealed the presence of low stand system tract (LST), high stand system tract (HST) and transgressive system tract (TST). Sands 1 and 2 were delineated within high stand systems tract (HST) while sand 3 was within low stand systems tract (LST). The results of this study show that the Nandy Field was of high hydrocarbon potentials and highlight the importance of using seismic reflection parameters (reflection configuration, amplitude, frequency and continuity) in the division and classification of seismic facies.

Alpha Tracks Examination for Female Urine Samples who are Suffering from Urinary Tract Infections

Urine samples had been gathered from females living in Baghdad city. The sample consisted of 30 females who suffered from U.T.I (Urinary tract infections) and 20 healthy females. The type of urine U.T.I was specified by the emergency lab in Al-Kindy hospital, and alpha tracks were determined by the nuclear track detector CR-39. The concentrations of alpha in 30 urine samples taken from females who had U.T.I ranged from 0.327ppm-1.583ppm, with an average of 0.94965 ppm. The maximum value 1.583 ppm is belonging to females with an aged 57 years old. The results of healthy female concentration ranged from 0.022 ppm-0.459ppm with an average of (0.30855ppm). The findings revealed that alpha emitter concentrations differed from woman to woman,

Adenine as Environmentally- Friendly Corrosion Inhibitor for Stainless Steel in Sodium Chloride Acid Solution

The corrosion behavior and the influence of the concentration of adenine (AD) on the corrosion of 316L stainless steel in 0.6 mol.dm-3 sodium chloride acid solutions were studied. The research was performed in two pH values (pH=2 and pH=4) over the temperature range (293- 308)K. The investigation involved electrochemical polarization method using potentiostatic technique. Tafel polarization study revealed that (AD) acted as a mixed inhibitor. The inhibition efficiency increased with an increase in the concentration of adenine, but decreased with increase in temperature. (efficiency= 87% at 0.01 M AD & at T= 293K). The adsorption of (AD) has been found to occur on the surface of 316L stainless steel according to the Langmuir isotherm.

Sellar hematoma as a new potential radiological clue for superior hypophyseal artery aneurysm rupture

Background. In cases of spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) with multiple intracranial aneurysms (MIAs) detected on angiography, some radiological clues assist in determining the site of a ruptured aneurysm which is bleeding is quite beneficial for the selection of the best treatment strategy. Case description. We report a case of a 60 years old patient who presented with spontaneous SAH, sellar hematoma, and three different aneurysms detected in angiography. Although the right Posterior communicating artery (PcomA) aneurysms showed Murphy’s teat on angiography intraoperatively, we discovered that the right superior hypophyseal aneurysm (SHA) was the source of the index bleeding. Both aneurysms were clipped successfully. Co

Hybrid CNN-SMOTE-BGMM Deep Learning Framework for Network Intrusion Detection using Unbalanced Dataset

This paper proposes a new methodology for improving network security by introducing an optimised hybrid intrusion detection system (IDS) framework solution as a middle layer between the end devices. It considers the difficulty of updating databases to uncover new threats that plague firewalls and detection systems, in addition to big data challenges. The proposed framework introduces a supervised network IDS based on a deep learning technique of convolutional neural networks (CNN) using the UNSW-NB15 dataset. It implements recursive feature elimination (RFE) with extreme gradient boosting (XGB) to reduce resource and time consumption. Additionally, it reduces bias toward

Deep Learning Approach for Oil Pipeline Leakage Detection Using Image-Based Edge Detection Techniques

Natural gas and oil are one of the mainstays of the global economy. However, many issues surround the pipelines that transport these resources, including aging infrastructure, environmental impacts, and vulnerability to sabotage operations. Such issues can result in leakages in these pipelines, requiring significant effort to detect and pinpoint their locations. The objective of this project is to develop and implement a method for detecting oil spills caused by leaking oil pipelines using aerial images captured by a drone equipped with a Raspberry Pi 4. Using the message queuing telemetry transport Internet of Things (MQTT IoT) protocol, the acquired images and the global positioning system (GPS) coordinates of the images' acquisition are

A New Structure for Cascaded Single-Stage Distributed Amplifier Using Proposed Active Inductor Loads

A modification to cascaded single-stage distributed amplifier (CSSDA) design by using active inductor is proposed. This modification is shown to render the amplifier suitable for high gain operation in small on-chip area. Microwave office program simulation of the Novel design approach shows that it has performance compatible with the conventional distributed amplifiers but with smaller area. The CSSDA is suitable for optical and satellite communication systems.

POLYVINYL ALCOHOL/POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVA/PVC) HOLLOW FIBER COMPOSITE NANOFILTRATION MEMBRANES FOR WATER TREATMENT

Two different polyvinyl alcohol/polyvinyl chloride (PVA/PVC) hollow fiber composite nanofiltration membranes were prepared after PVC hollow fiber membranes were coated using dip-coating method with PVA aqueous solution, which was composed of PVA, fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether (AEO9), and water [PVA/AEO9/water (4:0.5:95.5) wt%]. Effect of two different PVC hollow fiber immersion times in coating solution were studied. Cross-section, internal and external surfaces of the PVC hollow fibers and PVA/PVC composite nanofiltration membranes structures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), pure water permeation flux and solutes rejection. It was found that, the coating layer thickness on the outer surface of the 19 wt% P

Smart Flow Steering Agent for End-to-End Delay Improvement in Software-Defined Networks

To ensure fault tolerance and distributed management, distributed protocols are employed as one of the major architectural concepts underlying the Internet. However, inefficiency, instability and fragility could be potentially overcome with the help of the novel networking architecture called software-defined networking (SDN). The main property of this architecture is the separation of the control and data planes. To reduce congestion and thus improve latency and throughput, there must be homogeneous distribution of the traffic load over the different network paths. This paper presents a smart flow steering agent (SFSA) for data flow routing based on current network conditions. To enhance throughput and minimize latency, the SFSA distrib
