Cu-ZnO Nanostructures Synthesis and Characterization

5wt% copper doped zinc oxide (Cu-ZnO) nanostructures were prepared via the hydrothermal technique at different temperatures of 70, 100, 130, 160 and 190oC. UV spectroscopy, FE-SEM microscopy, XRD crystallography, and EDS measurements were used for nanostructure characterization. UV spectroscopy indicated a red shift for the absorption peaks, and hence a blue shift for the energy gap values, as temperature increased from 70 to 190oC. FE-SEM microscopy showed an increase in the average lengths and diameters of the nanostructures following a similar increase in temperature. XRD crystallography indicated decent structural patterns for Cu-ZnO nanostructures with an increase in crystallite size upon temperature increase. Interestingly, three unprecedented extra indices appeared in the structural pattern at 190oC, which might indicate a configuration of hexagonal crystallite with three extra planes. EDS measurements indicated the sole presence of Cu, Zn and O.

A Comparative Study to Reveal Earnings Management in Emerging Markets: Evidence from Tunisia and Iraq

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to compare and evaluate Earnings Management in Tunisia and Iraq. Theoretical framework: Earnings Management is an important topic that has been studied by a significant number of researchers, as well as those who are interested in the accounting profession. Earnings Management has gotten a lot of attention from academics, professionals, and other interested parties in recent years (e.g. Kliestik et al., 2020; Rahman et al., 2021; Gamra &Ellouze, 2021) Design/methodology/approach: The sample includes ten banks listed on the Bourse of Tunisia and Iraq Stock Exchanges for the year 2017. We have used a model of Kothari et al., (2005) as a tool to measure Earnings Management in both mark

Mentha piperita Oil Exerts an Antiepileptic Effect in Pilocarpine and Pentylenetetrazol-Induced Seizures in Mice

Introduction. Epilepsy is a progressive, chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures. Peppermint (Mentha piperita L.) (MP) is one of the most commonly ingested herbal teas or tisanes with a single component. Aim. We aimed to assess the potential antiepileptic and neuroprotective features of MP essential oil (MPO) in pilocarpine (P) and pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) models of epilepsy. Methods. The study used eight groups of mice to assess the anticonvulsant activity of MPO in both the P and PTZ acute models in mice. P (350 mg/kg, i.p.) was given 30 minutes after MPO (1.6, 3.2, and 6.4 ml/kg, i.p.). As a positive control group, diazepam (1 mg/kg, i.p) was used. PTZ (95 mg/kg, i.p.) was given 30 minutes after M

Comparative study between pure bacterocin and vancomycin on biofilms of MRSA isolated from medical implants

Thirty swabes of medical implants were collected from Al-Yarmouk's hospital which were cultured on manitole agar to isolate Staphelococcus aureus . Only four samples gave positive results with this media. It was used ten types of antibiotics to test the sensitivity of this bacterium against them. All isolates of S. aureus were recorded as multidrug resistant and were considered as MRSA. One pledge alternative therapy is the utilize of certain pure bacterocin MIC (32.5 to 62.5 μg/ml) and it was compared with vancomycin (200-400 μg/ml) with average of (8 – 15) mm diameter of inhibition zones recpectively. The first reduction of biofilm formation ability has been proved in catheters when treatedby pure bacterocin. The test shows the highes

Modern GPS diagnostic technique to determine and map soil hardpan for enhancing agricultural operation management

Among the undesirable effects of soil compaction is a measurable reduction in plant growth and crop yield. The prevailing belief is that compacted tillage pans are caused by repetitive farming practices, heavy tractors, tillage tools, and field traffic. This experiment was conducted to determine and map the hardpan layers across an agricultural field through advanced technologies of precision agriculture. These valuable techniques such as data logger, yield map, and data analysis of performance indicators were linked with accurate global positioning systems (GPS) datasets. These important technologies provided the farmers and helped them to identify and manage areas of the fields with higher compacted layers. Three ground speeds 4.3

Evaluation the Safety and Security Procedures used In X-ray Clinics in Al-Harthiya-Baghdad
Abstract
Radiation is a form of energy, its emitted either in the form of particles such as α-particles and β-particles (beta particles including the electron and the positron) or waves such as sunlight, X-rays and γ-rays. Radiation found everywhere around us and it comes from many different sources naturally or man-made sources. In this study a questionnaire was distributed to people working in the field of X-rays that used for a medical imaging (X-ray and CT-scan) to evaluate the extent of awareness and knowledge in estimate the damage of ionizing radiation as a result of wrong use. The questionnaire was distributed to medical clinics in Al-Harithiya in Baghdad, which it’s considered as
... Show More

Effect of Mycorrhizal Inoculation and Fertilization with Plant Residues on the Growth of Chard Plant

In order to study the effect of inoculation with mycorrhiza and fertilization with plant residues on the growth of plants, we used two factors: the first two levels of mycorrhiza inoculation, Glumus mossea (0 and 10 g.pot-1) and the second factor, four levels of plant residues (10 g.pot-1) celery plant residues, 10 g pot-1 mint residues, and 10 g pot-1 black bean seed residues. Mychorrizal treatment (10 g pot-1) increased the number of mycorrhiza spores and the infection percentage of mycorrhizal by 917.44% and 13088.23%, respectively; celery treatment (10 g.pot-1) increased the chlorophyll index in the leaves and height of the chard plant by 31.34% and 94.04%, re

Performance Enhancement of Face Recognition under High-Density Noise Using PCA and De-Noising Technique

There are many techniques for face recognition which compare the desired face image with a set of faces images stored in a database. Most of these techniques fail if faces images are exposed to high-density noise. Therefore, it is necessary to find a robust method to recognize the corrupted face image with a high density noise. In this work, face recognition algorithm was suggested by using the combination of de-noising filter and PCA. Many studies have shown that PCA has ability to solve the problem of noisy images and dimensionality reduction. However, in cases where faces images are exposed to high noise, the work of PCA in removing noise is useless, therefore adding a strong filter will help to im
