Study of Planktonic Foraminferal biostratigraphy and depositional environment of Khasib, Tanuma and Saadi Formations in well Agel -12- Northeastern Tikrite

The present study deals with the biostratigraphy and depositional environment of
(Late Turonian – Early Campanian) represent dy Khasib, Tanuma and Saadi
Formations in well Agel -12- Northeastern Tikrite. Determination of three
microfacies in Khasib, one microfacies in Tanuma and three microfacies in Saadi
Formations. Depending on microfacies the paleoecologe of Khasib Middle shelf –
Upper Bathyal environment, Tanuma Shelf Margin environment and Saadi
Formations sediment in Middle shelf – Upper Bathyal. Twenty planktic foraminiferal species belonging to eight genera have been identified within the
studied well.
Depending on the stratigraphic distribution of planktic foraminiferal species, the
succession was divided into five biozones. These zones are correlated (locally and
regional) with similar planktic foraminiferal
1- Marginotruncana sigali interval Zone.
2- Dicarinella primitive interval Zone.
3- Dicarinella concavata interval Zone.h
4- Dicarinella asymetrica Total Range Zone.
5- Globotruncanita elevata Partial Range Zone.
Age of Khasib Late Turonian, Tanuma Coniacian and Saadi Santonian - Early
Campanian.

Study of the Thermal Durability of Refractory Mortar Prepared from Local Clay Mixed with Different Percentage of Silica

Refractory mortar was prepared from the mixing of locally fire clay with different percentage of silica powder (30,40,50,60)wt% by using Pyrometric Cone Equivalent PCE . According to the U.S. Standard ASTM C24, the samples were prepared by using Hand – molding method and dried at temperature 110⁰C and finally firing at different temperature (1000,1100,1200,1300)⁰C according to burning program to study the effect of temperatures for these specimens on the thermal durability .It was shown that the increasing in the percentage of silica content increased the durability of heat specimens, and the best degree of burn was 1300°C.

Study on The Effects of Boron on The Structure of Chloroplasts of Cauliflower , By Using Light Scattering Technique

         Effects of Boron on the structure of chloroplasts membrane isolated from cauliflower are investigated , using light scattering technique. Results obtained in this study suggest that Boron in the concentration range (0.1-5 µm) can fluidize the lipids of the chloroplast membrane due to different extent. Mechanisms by which Boron can change the lipid fluidity is discussed. Furthermore, an experimental evidence is presented to show that2µM Boron can mediate conformational changes in the membrane –bound proteins of the cauliflower’s chloroplast.

The use of image analysis to study the effect of moisture content on the physical properties of grains
Abstract<p>Designing machines and equipment for post-harvest operations of agricultural products requires information about their physical properties. The aim of the work was to evaluate the possibility of introducing a new approach to predict the moisture content in bean and corn seeds based on measuring their dimensions using image analysis using artificial neural networks (ANN). Experimental tests were carried out at three levels of wet basis moisture content of seeds: 9, 13 and 17%.
