In this study, ceramic purifier (CP) was produced from a mixture of Iraqi raw materials. This ceramic mixture was prepared using Bentonite as a Clay, Porcelanite as a Silica, and Limestone as a flux. The produced ceramic filter was formed by semi-dry compressing method and was fired at 1200 C?. Physical properties of the produced CP were measured. A hydraulic test rig was constructed to study the hydraulic conductivity of the produced CP. The average hydraulic conductivity of the produced CP was 55 times that of commercial types of ceramic filters. The mineral composition of the produced ceramics was found by X-Ray tests. This study is included the preparation of two tetradentate amide-thiol proligands of the general structure [H2Ln], [where; (n = (1–2)]. The ligands [H2L1] and [H2L2] have been prepared from the reaction of the cyclic thioester 2-oxo-1, 4-dithiacyclohexane (compound 1) and 3-chloro-2-oxo-1, 4 dithiacyclohexane (compound 2) with 2-aminomethanepyridine in (1:1) ratio respetively. The reaction was carried out in chloroform at room temperature and under N2 atmosphere. Structural formula of these two ligands have been reported.

Abstract The avulsion of the flexor digitorum profundus, also known as the jersey finger, is a well-known injury that can be treated surgically. It has been classified into four types, among them type IV which involves tendon avulsion from an associated bony fragment with subsequent retraction to the palm or proximal interphalangeal joint is very rare. We present a case of type IV injury in a 45-year-old man with a pulling-on injury. The repair followed a pull-out technique (reinserting the tendon into the avulsed fragment); the entire reduction was tied over a button on the dorsal aspect of the nail and was augmented with a volar plate.
