Background: Langerhans' cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a group of conditions affecting the reticuloendothelial system. It includes Letterer-Siwe disease, Hand-Schuller-Christian disease and eosinophilic granuloma and most often presents in childhood. Materials and methods: Twenty-five cases of LCH were diagnosed histologically and confirmed by CD1a antibody and assessed immunohistochemically using anti-RANKL and anti-RANK antibodies to evaluate osteoclastogenic mechanism. Results: Regarding jaw cases, there was a significant correlation between CD1a and RANK (P=0.016). While in the skull, highly significant correlation existed between RANK and RANKL (p=0.001). An eco-epidemic model is proposed in this paper. It is assumed that there is a stage structure in prey and disease in predator. Existence, uniqueness and bounded-ness of the solution for the system are studied. The existence of each possible steady state points is discussed. The local condition for stability near each steady state point is investigated. Finally, global dynamics of the proposed model is studied numerically.

A prey-predator model with Michael Mentence type of predator harvesting and infectious disease in prey is studied. The existence, uniqueness and boundedness of the solution of the model are investigated. The dynamical behavior of the system is studied locally as well as globally. The persistence conditions of the system are established. Local bifurcation near each of the equilibrium points is investigated. Finally, numerical simulations are given to show our obtained analytical results.
