Thisre search was used in the short term method has been employed to determine the radioactive contamination from elements of natural and artificial radioactive.So, the natural gamma ray spectrum analysis technique using NaI(Ti) have been used to measure the The specific activity of the radioactoctive isotopes as following, U-238,Th-232 series of (Pb214,Pb212) respectively as wall as K-40 and industrial radioactive isotope Cs-137 was determined in the studied samples ,which are consisted of 30 samples from different locations and depth(10-50)cmthe samples of the soil batteries plant in Waziriya in Baghdad, as wall as Hazard index its found it within the permissible internationally.

In the present work, radon gas concentrations in different surface soil samples in Baghdad governorate were measured using RAD-7 detector. The results have been shown that, the Radon gas concentrations ranged between (41.67±1.78Bq/m3), to (185.67±4.22Bq/m3), a map showing the distribution of the concentration of radon in selected areas was defined to identify areas with high pollution level. The reason for the high concentration of radon is that these surface soil samples are taken from agricultural areas. This study assessed the quality of hand-dug drinking water sources in Eku and its environs at Eku I, Samagidi, Eku 2, and Okuechi, using the weighted arithmetic water quality index method. Water samples collected from hand-dug wells at these locations returned values for analyzed parameters. Various types of storing tanks are used to store municipal water at homes. This study was carried out to examine several water physical and chemical variables such as pH, EC, TSS and TDS after different storing periods. The obtained results showed no significant differences between the mean of pH values which ranged from 7.27 ± 0.04 in a water sample of galvanized tank after six days of storing to 8.10 ± 0.12 in water sample of aluminum tank after nine storing days. In case of electric conductivity, Highest mean values (1.85±0.09 μS/cm and 1.44 ± 0.21μS/cm) were found in galvanized tank samples for different storing periods while the lowest mean values (0.58±0.06 μS/cm and 1.04±0.06 μS/cm) were recorded in aluminum tank samples

The study involved the description of the environmental characters and distribution of Anogramma  leptophylla  (Annual  Maidenhair fern)  in Erbil and Garmian districts during May- 2017 in Kurdistan of Iraq.
