Investigating the Effects of Carbon Dioxide Laser Fluence on Oral Soft Tissue
...Show More Authors

This study investigates the surgical and thermal effects on oral soft tissues produced by CO2 laser emitting at 10.6 micrometers with three different fluences 490.79, 1226.99 and 1840.4 J/cm2. These effects are specifically; incision depth, incision width and the tissue damage width and depth. The results showed that increasing the fluence and /or the number of beam passes increase the average depths of ablation. Moreover, increasing the fluence and the number of beam passes increase the adjacent tissue damage in width and depth. Surgeons using CO2 laser should avoid multiple pulses of the laser beam over the same area, to avoid unintentional tissue damage.

Adsorption Kinetic and Thermodynamic Study of Congo Red Dye on Synthetic Zeolite and Modified Synthetic Zeolite
...Show More Authors

Linde Type-A (LTA) zeolite was modified by adding  lead sulfide into cavities of zeolite. The zeolite and zeolite –pbs  were characterized by FTIR, XRD, AFM and SEM. The adsorption of congo red (CR)  dye  from aqueous solution by zeolite and zeolite – pbs were studied. Different parameters like contact time, temperature and concentration of (CR) dye were investigated. The results show that at contact time of 45, 30 min for maximum adsorption of (CR) dye onto zeolite and zeolite -pbs respectively were observed. The kinetic data was analyzed using pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models. The adsorption kinetics of (CR) dye  were fitted well with the pseudo-second-order k

Comparison of Maximum Likelihood and some Bayes Estimators for Maxwell Distribution based on Non-informative Priors
...Show More Authors

In this paper, Bayes estimators of the parameter of Maxwell distribution have been derived along with maximum likelihood estimator. The non-informative priors; Jeffreys and the extension of Jeffreys prior information has been considered under two different loss functions, the squared error loss function and the modified squared error loss function for comparison purpose. A simulation study has been developed in order to gain an insight into the performance on small, moderate and large samples. The performance of these estimators has been explored numerically under different conditions. The efficiency for the estimators was compared according to the mean square error MSE. The results of comparison by MSE show that the efficiency of Bayes est

On a Subclass of Analytic and Univalent Functions with Positive Coefficients Defined by a Differential Operator
...Show More Authors

In this paper, a differential operator is used to generate a subclass of analytic and univalent functions with positive coefficients. The studied class of the functions includes:

which is defined in the open unit disk  satisfying the following condition

This leads to the study of properties such as coefficient bounds, Hadamard product, radius of close –to- convexity, inclusive properties, and (n, τ) –neighborhoods for functions belonging to our class.

Role of Extracted Genomic DNA on Biofilm Formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae in vitro
...Show More Authors

Bacteria form complex and highly elaborate surface adherent communities known as biofilms.Biofilm have been shown to be associated with several human diseases ,and to colonize a wide variety of medical devices . The current study focuses on contribution of extracted genomic   DNA in  biofilm formation by   P. aeruginosa and  K. pneumoniae isolates   .The percentages of Pseudomonas aeruginosa recovery from drinking water  in this study were  10%(20 positive P. aeruginosa  samples ) and K. pneumonia.,  7%(14 positive K. pneumonia samples). The results showed that all P.aeruginosa and K. pneumoniae isolates (100%) were slime producer but in different degrees by forming  of black

Heat Transfer Analysis and Magnetohydrodynamics Effect on Peristaltic Transport of Ree–Eyring Fluid in Rotating Frame
...Show More Authors

This paper discusses Ree–Eyring fluid’s peristaltic transport in a rotating frame and examines the impacts of Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). The results deal with  systematically (analytically) applying each of the governing equations of Ree–Eyring fluid, the axial and secondary velocities, flow rate due to auxiliary stream, and bolus. The effects of some distinctive variables, such as Hartman number, heat source/sink, and amplitude ratio, are taken under consideration and illustrated through graphs.

Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Subs. -1,3,4-Thiadiazolependant on Modified Poly(5-Vinyl Tetrazole-Co-MA)
...Show More Authors

New polymers were prepared from a monomer (5-vinyl-1H-tetrazole), which was prepared from acrylonitrile with sodium azide in the presence of ZnCl2.Another monomer (Methyl acrylate) was also used. Co-monomers were polymerized usingBPO as initiator. The second step was the preparation of copoly acid hydrazide from the reaction of compound2 with hydrazine hydrate, followed by the reaction with carbon disulphide in the presence of KOH to obtain copoly (5-subs.-2-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole). Next,compound4 was reacted with chloroacetyl chloride to yield compound4 5 which was reacted with (hydrazine hydrate , phenyl hydrazine and 2,4-di nitro phenyl hydrazine) as shown in scheme(1). Physical properties of all the prepared copolymers were chara

ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF CONOCARPUS ERECTUS LEAVES EXTRACTS ON SOME MICROORGANISMS ISOLATED FROM PATIENTS WITH BURN INFECTION
...Show More Authors

Medicinal plants are a source for a wide variety of natural active compounds and are used for the treatment of diseases throughout the world. Conocarpus erectus L. widely planted all over Iraq and has different secondary metabolites, which has been used in treatment of anemia, cancer, fever and diarrhea. The present study aims to estimate the antibacterial activity of Conocarpus erectus leaves extracts on some microorganisms collected from patients with burn infection. The study began with the collection of Conocarpus erectus leaves in June 2018 from the trees in university of Baghdad. Maceration method was used to prepare aqueous extract, while Soxhelt apparatus was used to prepare methanolic extract. The results of phytochemical test show

A Numerical Study on Cross Diffusion Cattaneo-Christov Impacts of MHD Micropolar Fluid Across a Paraboloid
...Show More Authors

Analyzing the impacts of Cattaneo-Christov flux, bioconvective Raleigh number and cross diffusion effects in electrically conducting micropolar fluid through a paraboloid revolution is assessed in this work. Non-dimensional equations are solved numerically using shooting technique with an aid of Matlab software. The impact of various parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration are discussed in detail and presented graphically. Harman number and micro rotation parameters are found and have an increasing influence on shear stress. The vertical velocity increases at free stream and the horizontal velocity increases near the surface when Grb increases, which follows the opposite trend for accumulation of Rb. T
