Kick tolerance control during well drilling in southern Iraqi deep wells
...Show More Authors

The importance of kick tolerance in well operations has recently increased due to its implications in well design, in drilling and well control. To study a simple method for the application of kick tolerance concept in an effective way on the basis of field data, this research purpose is to improve knowledge about Kick Tolerance and represents a technical basis for the discussion on revision of standard procedure.

The objective of this work is to review and to present a methodology of determination the kick tolerance parameters using the circulation kicks tolerance concepts.

The proposed method allows to know, to evaluate and to analyze the kick tolerance problem in order to make the drilling execution safer and more economical by reducing the probability to have an incident.

The calculations of presented methodologies were based upon calculated input values such as ppore and pfrac. and not upon measured leak-off test and RFT (less accurate) input values as in traditional methods. The paper also analyses the calculations not with KT parameters only, but it has continued to give the killing operation procedure to such high pressure high temperature (HPHT) wells.

Hydrochemistry of the Dammam Unconfined Aquifer Southern Desert, West Iraq

The type of groundwater in the studied area is slightly brackish. In general, the dominant water type is calcium-sulfate. The reasons behind these different chemical groundwater types can be referred to the active ion exchange between the groundwater of the Dammam aquifer and Rus Formation. The groundwater of the Dammam unconfined aquifer is not suitable for human drinking in all the parameters properties. The groundwater class is fair in the Qasir Al-Ukhaider area, while the Shebcha area and Al-Salman area are poor class except the eastern part of Al-Salman area is very poor.

Abstract. Iraq is characterized by a distinctive botanical and geological diversity with different plant families, monocotyledons and dicotyledons, the spread of dicotyledonous plants was more unique and of other species, For example, in Al-Tib, Maysan, Iraq, which through field trips to study the plant diversity and the surrounding conditions at these areas, it was found that the species belong for many plant families, dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous plants, including: Amaranthaceae, Apiaceae, Asteraceae, Boraginaceae, Brassicaceae, Capparidaceae, Caprifoliaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Convolvulaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Geraniaceae, Lamiaceae, Malvaceae, Papaveraceae, Plantaginaceae, Primulaceae, Salicaceae, Ranunculaceae, Solanaceae,

Remediation of Oil Production by Matrix Acidizing Method on an Oil Well
...Show More Authors

The remediation oil production by matrix acidizing method on the well named "X" (for confidential reasons) is scrutinized in this paper. Initial production of 1150 bpd, production index of 2.8 STB/Psi/d and permeability of 150md, in 2018 two years down the lane this dropped to 450 bpd, production index 0.7 STB/Psi/d. The declined observed on the production index is trouble shouted and after elimination of (no completion damage/perforation damage), the skin is calculated by carrying out a well test (build-up test) whose extrapolation in excel over times gave us a skin of 40.The reservoir heterogeneity, containing >20% of feldspar, carbonates and paraffin’s guided thematrix acidizing design and treatment proposition to remedy thi

Analysis of the Impact of Smart Sustainable Cities on Social Well-Being
...Show More Authors

The research aims to identify the relationship of indicators of sustainable smart cities with indicators of social well-being. It aims to study the most important strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing the transformation of the city of Baghdad into a smart and sustainable city and measure the performance gap between the city's current reality and its ideal on the way to achieving sustainability to improve the community's quality of life and well-being. Social research started from a problem: Poor clarity in defining indicators of sustainable smart cities and studying their relationship with social well-being. The research assumes that there are measurable indicators of smart cities, which lead to enhanced city services tha

Emotional Marketing and Its Relationship to Digital Well-Being among University Students
...Show More Authors

The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between emotional marketing and digital well-being among university students. The research sample consisted of 400 male and female students from the University of Baghdad during the academic year 2025–2026. The researcher developed an emotional marketing scale after reviewing previous studies and measurement instruments related to the topic. The digital well-being scale developed by Gomes et al. (2023) was also adopted for the purposes of the study. The findings indicated that the participants demonstrated emotional marketing and a high level of digital well-being. No statistically significant differences were found in emotional marketing or digital well-being according to gender (ma

Abstract:

Interest in the topic of prediction has increased in recent years and appeared modern methods such as Artificial Neural Networks models, if these methods are able to learn and adapt self with any model, and does not require assumptions on the nature of the time series. On the other hand, the methods currently used to predict the classic method such as Box-Jenkins may be difficult to diagnose chain and modeling because they assume strict conditions.

A Comparative Reservoir Study of Zubair and Nahr Umr Formations in Subba Oilfield, Southern Iraq
...Show More Authors

The lower Cretaceous sandstones of Zubair and Nahr Umr formations are the main producing reservoirs in Subba oilfield in southern Iraq. Key differences in their petrophysical and depositional attributes exist affecting their reservoir characteristics. The evaluation of well logs and core porosity-permeability data show better reservoir properties in Nahr Formation. The Litho-saturation logs indicate greater thickness of oil-saturated reservoir units for Nahr Unr Formation associated with lower values of shale volume, and higher values of effective porosity. In addition, higher values of permeability for Nahr Umr Formation is suggested by applying porosity-irreducible water saturation cross plot. The reducing reservoir quality of Zub
