The study attempted to present a conceptual aspect of banking merger and logistic regression, as well as the applied aspect which includes a sample consisting of six private Iraqi banks, and the hypothesis of the study is that the promotion of mergers among banks has positive impacts on improving the efficiency of performance of troubled banks, which contributes to the increase of banking services, raise of their financial indicators and the high liquidity and profits of the new banking entity as it is a way to overcome the prevailing banking crises.

The dye–semiconductor interface between N749 sensitized and zinc semiconductor (ZnSe) has been investigated and studied according to quantum transition theory with focusing on the electron transfer processes from the N749 sensitized (donor) to the ZnSe semiconductor (acceptor). The electron transfer rate constant and the orientation energy were studied and evaluated depended on the polarity of solvents according to refractive index and dielectric constant coefficient of solvents and ZnSe semiconductor. Iron slag is a byproduct generated in huge quantities from recycled remnants of iron and steel factories; therefore, the possibility of using this waste in the removal of benzaldehyde from contaminated water offers an excellent topic in sustainability field. Results reveal that the removal efficiency was equal to 85% for the interaction of slag and water contaminated with benzaldehyde at the best operational conditions of 0.3 g/100 mL, 6, 180 min, and 250 rpm for the sorbent dosage, initial pH, agitation time, and speed, respectively with 300 mg/L initial concentration.
