The cluster analysis of most important citrus trees in some governorates of Iraq for the year 2019
...Show More Authors

Citrus fruits are one of the consumer agricultural products of the Iraqi citizen. It is rich in vitamins and usedin many food industries as well as medicines. Classifying the amount of production of citrus treesaccording to the producing governorates has been done to find a map that shows the production of citrustrees according to Iraqi governorates. A cluster analysis method was used according to the hierarchicalmethod. The results showed that Najaf and Qadisiyah are the most similar in citrus production, whileSaladin and Najaf were the two governorates with the furthest distance in proximity matrix. Diyalagovernorate was clustered in the first cluster within two, three, four or five of the clusters for classifyingIraqi governorates covered by the research into three groups according to the production of citrus includingthe first group with the provinces of Najaf, Qadisiyah, Babil and Karbala, while annexation of the secondcluster provinces includes Diyala and Wasit. The third cluster has included the provinces of Baghdad andSaladin. The lowest distance has been between the governorates of Najaf and Qadisiyah as compared withthe longest distance between the governorates of Saladin and Najaf

Study of the Protective Effects of Benfotiamine Against CCl4-Induced Hepatotoxicity in Rats
...Show More Authors

Liver is considered as the first target for the toxic effects of toxins and other xenobiotics, and this can be attributed to its role as a site which receive all absorbed xenobiotics from the gastrointestinal tract and its role as a major site for biotransformation of xenobiotics. The present study was designed to evaluate the possible hepatoprotective effect of benfotiamine against CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity in rats. The study was conducted on 48 male albino rats; the animals were allocated into 8 groups (6 rats in each group) and treated as follow: 4 groups treated with oral doses of either normal saline, benfotiamine (100 mg/kg), thiamine (100 mg/kg), N-acetylcystein (400 mg/kg) only without induction of hepatic damage. In Vitro Assessment of the Antioxidant and Antitumor Potentials of Biogenic Silver Nanoparticle
...Show More Authors

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were biosynthesized using the cell free supernatant of putative probiotic Lactobacillus paracasei A26. Several biological activities of biogenic AgNPs were investigated in respect to in vitro anti-oxidant and anti-tumor potentials.  Anti-oxidant potentials were screened in terms of free radical scavenging activity against two free radicals, 2, 2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and resazurin dye. AgNPs exhibited a potent scavenging activity against resazurin dye (91±0.046%) with an EC50 concentration of 146.823 µg/ml, while scavenging of DPPH was significantly (P≤0.05) reduced to 72.330±0.114% using a higher EC50 concentration of 176.12 µg/ml. Evaluation of the Toxicological Effects of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles in Albino Male Mice
...Show More Authors

The acute and sub chronic toxicity effects of 25.16 nm intraperitoneally- injected zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) were evaluated. Albino male mice were exposed to three different doses (25, 50 ,and 100 mg/kg ), depending on the value of calculated LD50, for 2 and 4 weeks . Considerable changes in organ indexes were shown with a good relevance to the illustrated histopathological effects which ranged from multiple hemorrhagic foci in liver, mild swelling and dilatation in kidney tubules, thickening of intestinal villi, moderate interstitial pneumonia, especially with the high dose , and sever necrosis of seminiferous tubules in testes of all studied groups. Significant changes in both hematological and biochemical parameters as well a

The Effect Of Papaverine On Mechanical Activity in Ileal Smooth Mascle Of Hedgehogs
...Show More Authors

This is the first time that the mechanical activity of Hedgehog i leal

smooth muscle is a regular spontaneous contraction to be reported. It was  found  that  the different concent1·ations of  papaverine exerted different dcgces of inhibition on ileal smooth muscle. The minimum

effective  dose  was  (0.05)  mM.  Different  concentration  of acetylcholine and KCI caused tonic contraction in this kind of smooth muscle. High concentration of papaverine caused inst<mt relaxation in acetylcholine or Kcl- excited muscle. The inhibitory effect of the drug resul ted from the reduction of the available  free calcium and caused relaxation.

Role of the Immunohistochemical Marker (Ki67) in Diagnosis and Classification of Hydatidiform Mole
...Show More Authors

Introduction: Since the hallmark of gestational trophoblastic disease is trophoblastic proliferation, Ki67 is regarded as the best marker in studying hydatidiform mole. This study was conducted to evaluate the role of this proliferative marker in distinguishing among hydropic abortion, partial and complete hydatidiform mole. Materials and methods: This is a cross sectional study involving the application of Ki67 on a total of 90 histological samples of curetting materials from molar (partial and complete mole) and non molar hydropic abortion belong to Iraqi females, so three study groups were created. Immunohistochemical expression in villous cytotrophoblasts, syncytiotrophoblasts and stromal cells were recorded separately by three i

Efficacy of Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery in the Treatment of Primary Trigeminal Neuralgia
...Show More Authors

Background: Trigeminal neuralgia (TN), or Tic Douloureux, is one of the most common neuropathic pains. Gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery (GNSRS) has been considered one of the procedures for treating primary TN. Objective: This study evaluates the effectiveness of GNSRS in treating primary TN in patients who are unresponsive to medical treatment in a single-center experience. Subjects and Methods: This study was conducted on 180 patients from January 2018 to October 2021. The study utilized the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) pain intensity score to assess pain before and after GNSRS treatment. Results: A total of 180 patients with primary TN were included in this study, 108 female with a 1.5:1 female: male ratio.  Results
