Osteoporosis (OP) is a systemic skeletal disorder that is characterized by reduced bone mass and micro-architectural deterioration of bone tissue, with a consequent increase in bone fragility and susceptibility to fracture. The most frequent osteoporotic fractures are fractures of the hip, wrist, and spine. The exact causes of OP are still unknown; several factors contribute to the disorder. Subjects and Methods: This study consists of patient groups, this group (Group A) was composed of 80 postmenopausal women with OP and osteopenia and the patient group was subdivided into two group; First group (GroupA1) was composed of 50 postmenopausal women with OP and the second group (Group A2) composed of (30) Postmenopausal Women with osteopenia. In addition, to control group (20), 5 mL of venous blood sample were collected from each patient and healthy control in the population study, and the blood sample was transferred to a clean gel tube, left at room temperature for at least 30 minutes for clotting, then centrifuged for 5–10 minutes at 3000 rpm. Then, separated and divided into aliquots to obtain the serum, then its kept frozen at -20°C until analysis. The obtained serum was used to measure IL17A, FGF21, CXC12, calcium, and alkaline Phosphatase (ALP). Measurement of IL17A, FGF21 and CXC12 levels were performed by ELISA. The total calcium and serum ALK were measured by spectrophotometric-based method. Results: Serum levels of IL17A, FGF21 and CXC12 are significantly increased in Group A and subgroup (A1 and A2). Serum levels of total calcium and ALP are non-significant in Group A and sub group patients. Significant negative correlation between serum levels of IL17A and T score, FGF21 and T score, CXC12 and T score, IL 17A and Z score, IL17A and Calcium. Conclusions: Serum levels of IL17A, FGF21 and CXC12 is significantly increased in Group A and subgroup patients. Serum levels of total calcium and ALP are non-significant in Group A and sub group patients. Significant negative correlation exists between serum levels of IL17A and T score, FGF21 and T score, CXC12 and T score in Groups A and A1.
Background: The gene responsible for encoding the protein of cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) has been found to be associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in different ethnic populations. But the association of +49A/G CTLA-4 polymorphism with susceptibility of RA among Iraqi Arab populations has not yet been determined. Methods: One hundred and seventy-eight patients were examined, 67 of them were males (mean age 54.71 ± 10.4 years), while 167 were examined for the control group, of whom 64 were males and the rest were females. CTLA-4 DNA genotyping was carried on to determine the +49 A/G (rs231775) polymorphism using a polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). Enzyme-linked immuno

Bromelain (Br), a proteolytic enzyme known for its biological activities and pharmacological properties, exhibits limited absorption owing to its low solubility and bioavailability. The present study aimed to investigate the histological and immunohistochemical effects of bromelain conjugated with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on the testis histology of albino mice treated with CCl4. Thirty-five male albino mice (Mus musculus), with an average age of 9 weeks, were randomly divided into five groups, each containing seven mice. The experiment was prolonged for four weeks. The first group (G1) was the control group, the second group (G2) re

The main challenge was that the State Board use traditional evaluation in measuring employee performance, activities, and projects. Case study and field interviews methodology has been adopted in this research with a sample consisting of the Chairman of the State Board, 6 General Managers, and 7 Department Managers who are involved in evaluating the strategic performance and deciding the suitable answers on the checklists to analyze it according to the 7-points Likert scale. Each phase of wound healing requires different management strategies, and inappropriate treatment can delay wound healing. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of topical application of calmodulin as a significant augmentation of the granulation tissue production process of wound healing and to express of genes CaMKK2, MaP2K6 and CXCR4 at site of wound defect, that have versatile effects on the body and they belong to Ca/camodulin related genes. Material and Methods: In this study thirty albino male rats, weighting (300-400) gram, aged (6-8) months, wil
