Estimate The Survival Function By Using The Genetic Algorithm
...Show More Authors

Survival analysis is the analysis of data that are in the form of times from the origin of time until the occurrence of the end event, and in medical research, the origin of time is the date of registration of the individual or the patient in a study such as clinical trials to compare two types of medicine or more if the endpoint It is the death of the patient or the disappearance of the individual. The data resulting from this process is called survival times. But if the end is not death, the resulting data is called time data until the event. That is, survival analysis is one of the statistical steps and procedures for analyzing data when the adopted variable is time to event and time. It could be d

Formation Evaluation for Nasiriyah Oil Field Based on The Non-Conventional Techniques
...Show More Authors

The unconventional techniques called “the quick look techniques”, have been developed to present well log data calculations, so that they may be scanned easily to identify the zones that warrant a more detailed analysis, these techniques have been generated by service companies at the well site which are among the useful, they provide the elements of information needed for making decisions quickly when time is of essence. The techniques used in this paper are:

  • Apparent resistivity Rwa
  • Rxo /Rt

The above two methods had been used to evaluate Nasiriyah oil field formations (well-NS-3) to discover the hydrocarbon bearing formations. A compu

The Cluster Analysis by Using Nonparametric Cubic B-Spline Modeling for Longitudinal Data
...Show More Authors

Longitudinal data is becoming increasingly common, especially in the medical and economic fields, and various methods have been analyzed and developed to analyze this type of data.

In this research, the focus was on compiling and analyzing this data, as cluster analysis plays an important role in identifying and grouping co-expressed subfiles over time and employing them on the nonparametric smoothing cubic B-spline model, which is characterized by providing continuous first and second derivatives, resulting in a smoother curve with fewer abrupt changes in slope. It is also more flexible and can pick up on more complex patterns and fluctuations in the data.

The longitudinal balanced data profile was compiled into subgroup

Reliable Recurrence Algorithm for High-Order Krawtchouk Polynomials
...Show More Authors

Krawtchouk polynomials (KPs) and their moments are promising techniques for applications of information theory, coding theory, and signal processing. This is due to the special capabilities of KPs in feature extraction and classification processes. The main challenge in existing KPs recurrence algorithms is that of numerical errors, which occur during the computation of the coefficients in large polynomial sizes, particularly when the KP parameter (p) values deviate away from 0.5 to 0 and 1. To this end, this paper proposes a new recurrence relation in order to compute the coefficients of KPs in high orders. In particular, this paper discusses the development of a new algorithm and presents a new mathematical model for computing the

The Effect of Caroll’s Pattern on the Second Intermediate Class Pupils' Achievement in Geography
...Show More Authors

The present study aims at finding out the (effect of the Caroll’s pattern on the second intermediate class pupils' achievement in geography)

The partial experimental design of two groups, experimental and control, with pre-post tests is used. The sample is represented in (74) female pupils. The sample is divided into two groups (38) experimental group and (36) control one. The sample is selected from first intermediate  class pupils    ( Am Salama Secondary School for girls) \ Baghdad\ Al-karkh-1, for academic year 2015-2016.

The researcher has equalized the two groups in several variables: the previous achievement tests, intelligence, age in months, the scor

Function approximation technique-based adaptive virtual decomposition control for a serial-chain manipulator
...Show More Authors
SUMMARY<p>The virtual decomposition control (VDC) is an efficient tool suitable to deal with the full-dynamics-based control problem of complex robots. However, the regressor-based adaptive control used by VDC to control every subsystem and to estimate the unknown parameters demands specific knowledge about the system physics. Therefore, in this paper, we focus on reorganizing the equation of the VDC for a serial chain manipulator using the adaptive function approximation technique (FAT) without needing specific system physics. The dynamic matrices of the dynamic equation of every subsystem (e.g. link and joint) are approximated by orthogonal functions due to the minimum approximation errors produced. The contr</p> ... Chitosan salt as a dual-function agent for CO₂ sequestration and acidizing enhancement
...Show More Authors

The utilization of carbon dioxide (CO₂) to enhance wellbore injectivity presents a cost-effective and sustainable strategy for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions while improving reservoir performance. This study introduces an environmentally friendly method employing a water-soluble chitosan salt (CS) that generates a carbonated-rich acid solution upon contact with dry CO₂ at 25 °C and 508 psi. CS solutions (100–2000 ppm) were prepared and evaluated for CO₂ uptake, acid generation, and rheological behavior. Results show that 1000 ppm achieves an optimal CO2 uptake (2612 mg/l), with moderate viscosity increase (from 1.52 to 3.37 cp), while higher concentrations exhibit a sharp rise due to polymer-like network formation. Tunneling induced swapping of orbital angular momentum in a quantum dot molecule
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>In this paper, we have examined the effectiveness exchange of optical vorticity via three-wave mixing (TWM) technique in a four-level quantum dot (QD) molecule by means of the electron tunneling effect. Our analytical analysis demonstrates that the TWM procedure can result in the production of a new weak signal beam that may be absorbed or amplified within the QD molecule. We have taken into account the electron tunneling as well as the relative phase of the applied lights to assess the absorption and dispersion characteristics of the newly generated light. We have discovered that the slow light propagation and signal amplification can be achieved. Our results show that the exchange o</p> ... Show More
