This study focused on the soil  of the Al-Khassa Sub Basin,  thirty-four soil samples were collected from different areas of land use and differences in human activity.

 Physicochemical properties of the soil were examined Hydrogen Potential (pH), Organic Matter (O.M), Loss Of  Ignition (L.O.I), Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) and Total Hydrocarbon (THC).

  Hydrogen Potential (pH)  showed that the soil is alkaline above seven with  a mean 7.98.

Groundwater is considered as one of the most important sources of fresh-water, on which many regions around the world depend, especially in semi-arid and arid regions. Protecting and maintaining groundwater is a difficult process, but it is very important to maintain an important source of water. The current study aims to assess the susceptibility of groundwater to pollution using the DRASTIC model along with the GIS environments and its tool boxes. A vulnerability map was created by relying on data collected from 55 wells surveyed by the researchers as well as archived records from governmental institutions and some international organizations.        Hydrothermal process method using different dimensions reactors with volume 100 ml (homemade) was employed to prepare titanium sub-oxide Ti₆O₁₁, where  one gram of TiO₂ nanoparticles 30-50 nm and 3M (20 ml) of NaOH as suspension was used . The samples are characterized using X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM). X-ray diffraction revealed the formation of sub- oxide titanium Ti₆O₁₁ of triclinic structure with Magneli phase, when the temperature applied was 363K for 9h.While FE-SEM showed uniform hierarchical structures with planar grass-like shapes. A novel phase has been found from rutile titanium.

Abstract

This study investigates the mechanical compression properties of tin-lead and lead-free alloy spherical balls, using more than 500 samples to identify statistical variability in the properties in each alloy. Isothermal aging was done to study and compare the aging effect on the microstructure and properties.

The results showed significant elastic and plastic anisotropy of tin phase in lead-free tin based solder and that was compared with simulation using a Crystal Plasticity Finite Element (CPEF) method that has the anisotropy of Sn installed. The results and experiments were in good agreement, indicating the range of values expected with anisotropic properties.

The reservoir characteristics of the Pre-Santonian Eze-Aku sandstone were assessed using an integrated thin section petrography and SEM Back-Scattered Electron (BSE) imaging methods.
