In this study the assessment radon concentration in sludge of Oil
Fields in North Oil Company (N.O.C.) of Iraq have been studied
using CR-39 solid–state nuclear track detector technique. A total of
34 samples selected from 12 oil stations in the company have been
placed in the dosimeters. The average radon concentration was found
to be 162.29 Bq/m³ which is fortunately lower than the standard
international limit. The potential alpha energy concentration and
annual effective dose have been calculated. A proportional
relationship between the annual effective dose and radon
concentration within the studied region has been certified.

The present research aims to measure the wisdom among university students and the differences of the concept of wisdom according to the gender of students in college of Basic Education. Background: The most important advances in medical education in the last decade are the shift in focus from learning objectives to learning outcomes. The advantages of active over passive learning are researched-based. The aim of this study was to evaluate the students reading habits; utilization of lectures, group study, resources utilized during study, and if there is a need to change the curriculum.<br />Methods: A prospective study was done in Medical City Teaching Hospital, from January 2007 to January 2008, including 438 students from the college of medicine, university of Baghdad.      Twelve cigarette  tobacco samples of various brands and origins   were gathered from local markets of Iraq. . The C_Rn  was determined utilizing CR-39 track detectors which were exposed to the various brands of cigarettes tobacco for 45 days. The  results demonstrated that the highest value of ²²²Rn concentration was )157 Bq/m³( in Macbeth cigarette sample of Brazilian origin and the lowest value of C_Rn was (76.3 Bq/m³ (in Sumer cigarette sample of Iraqi origin,with an average value of (106.53±22.3 Bq/m³).
