Biochemical Characterization for Lipid Synthesis in Aspergillus niger

A niger, a fungus which doesn't have high ability to production lipid, this fungus has been select to investigate the non oleaginicity. In this search, there are explorations about: i) growth profile ii) enzymes profile iii) isoforms. Growth profile shows that this fungus doesn't have ability to accumulate lipid more than 6% while bio mass are around 10g/l in spite of the presence of glucose in the media till the end of cultivation time and excision of nitrogen within 24 hrs. In enzyme study, we investigate all lipogenic enzymes Malic enzyme (ME), Fatty acid synthase (FAS), ATP: Citrate lays (ACL), NAD+ isocitrate dehydrogenase (NAD+ICDH), Glucose-6-phosphate (G6PD), and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6PGD), all these enzymes show, activities till the end of cultivation time including ACL which is regarded the key enzyme to differentiate between the two species oleaginous and non oleaginous. So, there is no main reason to non oleaginicity for this fungus. A further experiment has been done using Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis to identify ME isoforms. The result of Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis shows multi isoforms (A, B, C, D & E), with low intensity of isoform E, the isoforms that may involve in lipid synthesis. We have now studied the biochemistry of A.niger grown under conditions designed to promote lipid accumulation and can now advance a coherent hypothesis to explain why A niger could not accumulate lipid more than 6%. So the absence of isoforme E is the main reason for non oleaginicity in A niger.

The decorative structure in the calligraphic painting

The decoration structure in calligraphy painting is one of the variables that characterized the structure of the calligraphic composition due to the artistic, aesthetic and expressive properties of the letters of the Arabic calligraphy, which are represented by flexibility, compliance and the ability to form. Therefore, the researcher defined his problem by asking the following question: What is the decorative structure in the calligraphic painting? The study aimed to reveal the structure of the ornamentation in the calligraphy painting, while the researcher dealt with in the second chapter three sections, the first (the ornamental concept and meaning) and the second topic (the structural characteristics of the Arabic letter in the calli

Congenital Malformations In The West Of Iraq

Summary:
Background: CM is the leading cause of infant deaths and account for much greater proportion of infant mortality’ than does premature birth. A malformation is a primary structural defect arising from a localized error in morphogenesis. This is a prospective study devoted to define the causes and frequencies of congenital malformations (CM) in Maternal and Children Hospital (MCH) in Al-Anbar govemorate (west of Iraq) and a comparison is done with other Iraqi and international studies.
FdC Med Baghdad Methods: Congenital malformations were studied over a period of 2 years from the 1st of July 2000 2007/ Vol. 49, No.3 f0 fjle 30th ofJune 2002 in 12831 births including stillbirths at MCH in Al- Anbar govemorate (west Receive

Serum Lactate Dehydrogenase Level in Acute Leukemias

Background:
Acute leukemias are clonal neoplastic proliferations of immature cells of the hemopoietic system. They are divided into acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute
lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute undifferentiated leukemia (AUL). LDH has been suggested as a possible non-specific tumor marker for many years, and total serum LDH is
frequently elevated in neoplastic diseases. The aims of the study are to evaluate the significance of increased serum LDH levels in patients with acute leukemia and to
determine the importance of serum LDH level in the follow up and assessment of treatment responses.
Patients, Materials and Methods:
This study was conducted at Baghdad Teaching Hospital in Medical C

Retinal effects of Sildenafil in diabetic patients

Background
Sildenafil has been used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). However it has the disadvantage of many visual disturbances. The aim of this work is to study the effect
of sildenafil on diabetic patients which might have ocular problems due to diabetes mellitus.
Materials and Methods:
A total of 30 subjects were enrolled in the study, they were divided into two groups. The control group consisted of 10 healthy subjects but complaining of ED only and the
other (20 patients) had diabetes mellitus and ED as well. All subjects had ocular tests done before and after sildenafil intake. It was obvious that sildenafil changed visual tests from totally normal for controls, before tre

Congenital coronary anomalies in Iraqi adult population

Background: Geographic variations in the incidence of different congenital coronary anomalies are well known, but infrequently studied in the Iraqi population.
Recognition of coronary anomalies is important in patients undergoing coronary arteriogrphy; coronary interventions and cardiac surgery .Variation in the frequency of primary congenital coronary anomalies may possibly have a genetic background.
Patients and methods: Three thousands adult patients underwent diagnostic coronary angiography at two cardiac centers in Baghdad between January 2003 to March 2006. Their angiographic films were reviewed by at least two experts in coronary angiographic study.
Results: Among 3000 adult patients wh
