Renal function tests are commonly used in clinical practice to look for renal disease, the most common includes the serum urea, uric acid and creatinine. Heart failure patients have a higher incidence of renal function test abnormalities than individuals who do not have heart failure disease. Background: hair graying is an aging sign; it is associated with ischemic heart disease. Metabolic syndrome often associates with increased risk for atherosclerotic arterial disease.
Objective: To test retrospectively the association between onset of hair graying and risk of metabolic syndrome.
Methods: Four hundred and eighty one gray hair individuals, with no history of atherosclerotic diseases were included. The individuals have been divided into metabolic syndrome and control groups. Each individual was asked about the decade (2nd-6th) of onset of hair grayness.

Adenosine deaminase (ADA; Ec: 3.5.4.4), 5´- Nucleotidase (5´– NT; Ec: 3.1.3.5), and AMP – amino hydrolase (AMP – deaminase AMPDA; Ec: 3.5.4.6) activities were measured in sera of ovarian cancer patients before surgery, and after chemotherapy.
