Formation of Compressive Residual Stress by Face Milling Steel AISI 1045
...Show More Authors

Abstract

Machining residual stresses correlate very closely with the cutting parameters and the tool geometries. This research work aims to investigate the effect of cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut on the surface residual stress of steel AISI 1045 after face milling operation. After each milling test, the residual stress on the surface of the workpiece was measured by using X-ray diffraction technique. Design of Experiment (DOE) software was employed using the response surface methodology (RSM) technique with a central composite rotatable design to build a mathematical model to determine the relationship between the input variables and the response. The results showed that both the feed rate and the cutting speed are the significant factors controlling the surface residual stress, while the depth of cut had no influence. A quadratic empirical model was developed with a 95% confidence level, and a good agreement was found between the experimental and predicted results. A numerical optimization was then conducted through DOE program to find the optimum surface residual stress at the optimum cutting parameters, depending on the maximum desirability obtained. The optimum compressive surface residual stress (-224.361 MPa) was found at cutting speed of 69.2 m/min, feed rate of 0.4 m/min and depth of cut of 0.4 mm.

The Impact of Envy on Workplace Stress A field Study of Faculty Staff at the Technical College of Management-Baghdad
...Show More Authors

The research aims to measure the impact of envy on job stress because the topic of envy represents a negative emotion that exists at all organizational levels, which may cause stress in the work environment.

The Research problem is represented by the lack of perception of most of the faculty staff on the negative effects of envy on their well-being in the Technical College of Management - Baghdad, and what is the impact level of envy on their job stress.

To achieve this, the scale of envy was based on two dimensions (being envied, Envying others), While the job stress scale was based on seven dimensions (workload, conflict role, Family factors, work environment, work relationships

: In modern optical communication system, noise rejection multiple access interference (MAI) must be rejected in dense access network (DAN). This paper will study the dual optical band pass and notch filters. They will be extracted with tunable FWHM using 10cm (PMF) with different cladding diameters formed with etching 125μm PMF after immersing it with 40% of hydrofluoric acid (HF). This fiber acts as assessing fiber to perform Sagnac interferometer with splicing regions that placed 12cm (SMF) for performing hybrid Sagnac interferometer that consists of Mach-Zehnder instead of Sagnac loop which is illuminated by using laser source with centroid wavelength of 1546.7nm and FWHM of 286 pm or 9 ns in the time domain. . 1D Geomechanical Modeling to Detect the Deformation in Mishrif Formation at Nasriyah Oil Field, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Knowing the distribution of the mechanical rock properties and in-situ stresses for the field of interest is essential for many applications concerning reservoir geomechanics, including wellbore instability analysis, hydraulic fracturing, sand production, reservoir compaction, subsidence and water/gas injection throughout the filed life cycle. Determining the rock's mechanical properties is challenging because they cannot be directly measured at the borehole. The recovered carbonate core samples are limited and only provide discrete data for specific depths. This study focuses on creating a detailed 1D geomechanical model of the Mishrif reservoir in the Nasriyah oil field to identify the fault regime type for each unit in the format

Advanced Machine Learning application for Permeability Prediction for (M) Formation in an Iraqi Oil Field
...Show More Authors

Permeability estimation is a vital step in reservoir engineering due to its effect on reservoir's characterization, planning for perforations, and economic efficiency of the reservoirs. The core and well-logging data are the main sources of permeability measuring and calculating respectively. There are multiple methods to predict permeability such as classic, empirical, and geostatistical methods. In this research, two statistical approaches have been applied and compared for permeability prediction: Multiple Linear Regression and Random Forest, given the (M) reservoir interval in the (BH) Oil Field in the northern part of Iraq. The dataset was separated into two subsets: Training and Testing in order to cross-validate the accuracy

The Ability of Nutrient Antioxidants to Influence Oxidative Stress and Lower the Dose of Prednisolone in Patients with Alopecia Areata
...Show More Authors

Alopecia areata is a common disorder, hypothesized to be autoimmune in etiology. Cortisone taken orally may stimulate new hair growth. Prednisone (orally administered steroid (has proved effective for patients with alopecia areata, but its potential side effects include weight gain, metabolic abnormalities, acne and menstrual problems.

This clinical study was designed to assess the clinical significance of the nutrient antioxidants (vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin C) in reducing the dose of corticosteroids (prednisolone), and as a consequence, their side effects in patient with alopecia. The results of this study reveal the potential clinical significance of the therapy for two months with these antioxidants in reducing the dose

Evaluation of oxidative stress activity and the levels of homocysteine, vitamin B12, and DNA methylation among women with breast cancer
...Show More Authors

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignant tumor in women and the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. This work was conducted to estimate the roles of oxidative stress, vitamin B12, homocysteine (HCY), and DNA methylation in BC disease progression. Sixty BC patients (age range 33–80 years) and 30 healthy controls were recruited for this study. Patients with BC were split to group 1 consisted of stage II BC women (low level), and group 2 consisted of patients in stages III and IV (high level). Malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione peroxidase 3 (GPX3), HCY, and vitamin B12 levels in the study groups were measured. Also, the 5-methylcytosine (5mC) global DNA methylation levels were evaluated. The results showed a significant
