Although many technological improvements are occurring in power production worldwide, power plants in third world countries are still using old technologies that are causing thermal pollution to the water bodies. Power facilities that dump hot water into water bodies are damaging aquatic life. In the study, the impact of the Al Dora thermal power plant on a nearby stretch of Tigris River in Baghdad city was assessed by measuring the temperature of the disposed of hot water in various cross-sections of the selected stretch of Tigris River, including measuring the thermal mixing length. Objectives: This research aims to assess the suitability and availability of climatic conditions for olive cultivation in Iraq. The study identifies the most and least suitable areas, along with intermediate areas, utilizing the ArcMap program for mapping and delineating agriculturally favorable regions. In this manuscript, a simple new method for the green synthesis of platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs) utilizing F. carica Fig extract as reducing agent for antimicrobial activities was reported. Simultaneously, the microstructural and morphological features of the synthesized Pt NPs were thoroughly investigated. Various activities taking place within the city of Baghdad have significantly contributed to organic pollution in Rivers Tigris and Diyala.
