Women’s Traits In The Iraqi Satirical Television Show ‘State Of Melon’ A Paper Extracted from A Masters Thesis

The research aims to know the traits or characteristics of woman in terms of her external
appearance, motives for her behavior, feelings, mood and ability.
It, moreover, seeks woman’s relationship with others as it is presented by the Iraqi
satirical television show “ State of Melon “.
The researcher adopted for that survey approach using the method of content analysis
to study the research sample represented by “ State of Melon “ show which was
exposed through the screen of a group of channels:
“Hona Baghdad Satellite Channel, then Asia Satellite Channel, Dijla Satellite Channel,
and UTV Satellite Channel.”For this, the researcher used Margaret Gallagher’s Model to analyze the image of
woman in the Show episodes, which amounted to (132) episodes, divided into (the
second season - and the pre-season episodes of the third - and the third season - and
the fourth season - the fifth season).
In the light of this study, the researcher reached a set of results, which are:
1.The woman appeared dependent in her relationship with others, in addition to being
anxious and aggressive in her mood and feelings.
2.The woman image is considered among the hesitant and volatile characters of the
group of competence and capacity characters on the show.
3. At the forefront of the motives for woman›s behavior in the «State of Melon» Show
was that woman was driven by her feelings, while her outward appearance was dominated
by rudeness.

The research used a four-stroke diesel engine to investigate the effect of different glycol contamination levels (0, 120, and 220 ppm) under two engine loads (4.5 and 9 kW). Synthesis of New Substituted Coumarin Derivatives containing Schiff-Base as Potential Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Agents

By unusual method for separating two isomers of a substituted nitro-coumarin using a soxhlet extractor and in controlling temperature to get a selective nitration reaction, several new Schiff base coumarins were synthesized from nitro coumarins as starting material, which were reduced by Fe in glacial acetic acid to produce corresponding amino coumarin derivatives. Then the latter was reacted with different aromatic aldehydes to produce the desired Schiff bases derivatives. After characterization by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR) and Carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (C-NMR), all these compounds were evaluated as potential Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Agents.

A low speed open circuit wind tunnel has been designed, manufactured and constructed at the Mechanical Engineering Department at Baghdad University - College of Engineering. The work is one of the pioneer projects adapted by the R & D Office at the Iraqi MOHESR. The present paper describes the first part of the work; that is the design calculations, simulation and construction. It will be followed by a second part that describes testing and calibration of the tunnel. The proposed wind tunnel has a test section with cross sectional area of (0.7 x 0.7 m2) and length of (1.5 m). The maximum speed is about (70 m/s) with empty test section.
