Many stone tools were found on a hill south of the Hor Al-Dalmaj which is located in the central part of the alluvial plain of Mesopotamia, between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The types of rocks from which the studied stone tools were made are not found in the alluvial plain, because it consists of friable sand, silt, and clay. All existing sediments were precipitated in riverine environments such as point bar, over bank, and floodplain sediments. This research uses theories of 'social support' and 'planned behaviour' alongside satisfaction and perceived value to propose a research model that drives social capital for energy sectors in Malaysia. The physicochemical properties of drinking water in six different and limited sites on  Euphrates River in Babylon governorate were studied during the year of2004.

Different parameters including (pH), alkalinity, turbidity, total hardness, magnesium, calcium, chloride and total dissolved solids in water were determined. It was found that the total hardness and the total dissolved solids were higher than those registered in the previous studies on Tigris

River sites.

Generally, the levels of these parameters were found to be within the

allowed ranges of human uses, except the total hard:1ess.

Geotechnical characterization of the sites has been investigated with the collection of borehole data from different sources. Using the data, grain size distribution curves have been developed to understand the particle size distribution of the alluvium present. These curves were further used for preliminary assessment of liquefiable areas.
