News Coverage of Iraq’s International Relations in Iraqis News Channel
...Show More Authors

The research aims to identify the new reality of Iraq’s international relations through the news
coverage carried out by Al-Iraqiya TV since the size and nature of the coverage indicate the extent
to which these relations have reached. The research problem is summarized by the main question
(what is the size and nature of news coverage of Iraq’s international relations in the Iraqi News
Channel?).
This research is considered a descriptive research, as the researchers used the survey method and the
content analysis method through a partial confinement of the research community consisting of the
main news broadcast for one programmatic period. The content analysis form that was subjected to
evaluation was designed by experts and arbitrators to show its compatibility with the research topic
and the categories it contains. The research reached to several results, most notably: seeking of Iraq
to build economic and investment relations with the countries of the world and to bring in major
companies to rebuild its destroyed cities and advance its economic reality; building, training and
arming its army and continuing to fight terrorism in Iraq, the region and the world, and confronting
ISIS; adopting a foreign policy that respects sovereignty; Iraq's denial to be a platform for war
against neighboring countries; highlighting the government's endeavor to be a meeting point and
dialogue for all countries and a representative of peace for the peoples of the world; highlighting the
role of the three presidencies as active figures in the news by covering official meetings and meetings
with presidents, kings and representatives of other countries; transmitting of news without a source,
which highlights the poor performance of the news room in the Channel and its failure to verify the
news sources when receiving government news about Iraq’s international relations.
On the other hand, the coverage showed the channel’s potential by relying on its own sources in
a number of news, which indicates the channel’s ability to rely on itself in covering news of Iraq's
international relations inside and outside Iraq.
The research, moreover, showed another result of investigating: demonstrating the possibility of the
technical and technological channel by hosting guests via satellite and preparing various television
reports to enrich the international Iraqi event with important details and technical materials
photographed from the event site.

Copulas in Classical Probability Sense
...Show More Authors

Copulas are simply equivalent structures to joint distribution functions. Then, we propose modified structures that depend on classical probability space and concepts with respect to copulas. Copulas have been presented in equivalent probability measure forms to the classical forms in order to examine any possible modern probabilistic relations. A probability of events was demonstrated as elements of copulas instead of random variables with a knowledge that each probability of an event belongs to [0,1]. Also, some probabilistic constructions have been shown within independent, and conditional probability concepts. A Bay's probability relation and its pro

Background: Day case surgery has become widely accepted as a safe alternative to the inpatient care in up to 70% of the cases at a children’s hospital. It has the advantage of minimizing the psychological trauma of hospitalization, decreasing nosocomial infection, less costly and frees up hospital beds. Objectives: To assess the advantages and disadvantages of this type of surgery. Methods: this is a prospective study, in which two hundred thirty childhood tonsillectomies were performed as a day-case in the department of otolaryngology at Al Shaheed Gazi hospital, Medical City Complex during the period from October 2009 to September 2010. The patients age range from 3-12 years (Mean 7.2 years). Results: 46.08% males and 53.91% females wer

Tamper Detection in Color Image
...Show More Authors

In this work a fragile watermarking scheme is presented. This scheme is applied to digital color images in spatial domain. The image is divided into blocks, and each block has its authentication mark embedded in it, we would be able to insure which parts of the image are authentic and which parts have been modified. This authentication carries out without need to exist the original image. The results show the quality of the watermarked image is remaining very good and the watermark survived some type of unintended modification such as familiar compression software like WINRAR and ZIP

Recent advances in polymeric implants
...Show More Authors

Implantable drug delivery systems, such as drug pumps and polymeric drug depots, have emerged as means of providing predetermined drug release profiles at the desired site of action. While initial implants aimed at providing an enduring drug supply, developments in polymer chemistry and pharmaceutical technology and the growing need for refined drug delivery patterns have prompted the design of sophisticated drug delivery implants such as on-demand drug-eluting implants and personalized 3D printed implants. The types of cargo loaded into these implants range from small drug molecules to hormones and even therapeutic cells. This review will shed light upon recent advances in materials and composites used for polymeric implant fabrication, hi

Literacy-based instruction in STEM
...Show More Authors

Socio-scientific issues provide a great platform to both engage students in scientific topics and assess their understanding of scientific concepts. Nancy R. Singer, Amy Lannin, Maha Kareem, William Romine, and Katie Kline report on the STEM Literacy Project, a three-year National Science Foundation grant that aimed to improve STEM teachers’ knowledge and integration of literacy in their classrooms. They describe teachers’ professional learning, scenario-based assessments and other strategies they incorporated in their STEM classrooms, and how writing enables students to understand real-world issues.

Natural Radioactivity in Food Stuff
...Show More Authors

The purpose of this research is to study the natural radioisotopes in different Iraqi food as well as various fission products emitted during nuclear accidents worldwide. This work investigated different food stuffs like flour rice, sugar, salt dates, okras, lentil, cauliflowers and broad beans. The detection system used in this study employs Ge (Li)detector connected to a multi-channel analyser. The radioactivity concentration in measured samples has been estimated. Traces of radioisotopes such as (K,Th,CS, U) potassium, Thorium, Caesium and Uranium have been
found

Stabilising nanofluids in saline environments
...Show More Authors

Nanofluids (i.e. nanoparticles dispersed in a fluid) have tremendous potential in a broad range of applications, including pharmacy, medicine, water treatment, soil decontamination, or oil recovery and CO2 geo-sequestration. In these applications nanofluid stability plays a key role, and typically robust stability is required. However, the fluids in these applications are saline, and no stability data is available for such salt-containing fluids. We thus measured and quantified nanofluid stability for a wide range of nanofluid formulations, as a function of salinity, nanoparticle content and various additives, and we investigated how this stability can be improved. Zeta sizer and dynamic light scattering (DLS) principles were used to invest

Kurdish language multifunctional morphemes indicate the different functional morphological, syntactical, and semantic tasks of the morphemes. The present study discusses the multifunctional task of the Morpheme Le in Kurdish Language. The Morpheme Le has marginally been included in other studies, yet up to the present times, there has not been a research inclusively dedicated to thoroughly discuss and clarify its multifunctional aspects. The  present study is divided into two chapters:

Chapter one discusses the theoretical aspect of chapter two that is entirely concerned with the practical aspect of the morpheme Le. The first part of chapte
