Some actions do not come from the law, but rather from the moral will of a person, and these actions are necessary for people to do because a person is a moral being whose existence is determined by his relationship with values. And, since ethics is one of the normative sciences that link the end to the means, that is, of a person study is not limited to what is an object, or a current situation, but it should be. Therefore, task of a person is to set conditions that must be met in human will and actions in order to become the subject of legal and ethical rulings. This is because there is a close relationship between law and morality, and despite the absence of a legal rule that obliges individuals to do actions, such as extending a hand
... Show MoreTraumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is still considered a worldwide leading cause of mortality and morbidity. Within the last decades, different modalities were used to assess severity and outcome including Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), imaging modalities, and even genetic polymorphism, however, determining the prognosis of TBI victims is still challenging requiring the emerging of more accurate and more applicable tools to surrogate other old modalities
Effective management of advanced cancer requires systemic treatment including small molecules that target unique features of aggressive tumor cells. At the same time, tumors are heterogeneous and current evidence suggests that a subpopulation of tumor cells, called tumor initiating or cancer stem cells, are responsible for metastatic dissemination, tumor relapse and possibly drug resistance. Classical apoptotic drugs are less effective against this critical subpopulation. In the course of generating a library of open-chain epothilones, we discovered a new class of small molecule anticancer agents that has no effect on tubulin but instead kills selected cancer cell lines by harnessing reactive oxygen
The study objectives were to 1) explore the real-world experience of hospital pharmacists with the differences in effectiveness safety, and interchangeability between biosimilar medicines and their reference biological counterparts, 2) reveal pharmacist recommendations to enhance the safety of biopharmaceutical medicines in public hospitals.
The study has a mixed-method design where the core component was qualitative (interviews) and the supplemental component was quantitative (adverse drug reaction, ADR, reports). This qualitative component included semi-structured (mostly face-to-face) interviews involving hospital pharmacists from different hospitals with experience with biological or biosimilar medicines. The interviews were c

... Show MoreDespite recent advances in both suture welding and knotless anchor technology, knot tying will remain a necessary skill which the surgeon must master when performing suture
anchor in laparoscopic surgery. There are an endless number of combinations of knots (sliding versus static, simple versus complex, etc.) and suture types (monofilament versus
braided) to accomplish this task. Surgeons are familiar with knotting but seem not to be aware of the possibilities and impact of the techniques of capsizing, flipping, and flyping
knots. (1) Capsizing refers to changing or perverting a flat knot’s geometry under asymmetric stress. The simplest examples of this is the change
