The present research aims to study the effect of friction stir welding (FSW) parameters on temperature distribution and tensile strength of aluminum 6061-T6. Rotational and traverse speeds used were (500,1000,1400 rpm) and (14,40,112 mm/min) respectively. Results of mechanical tests showed that using 500rpm and 14mm/min speed give the best strength. A three- dimensional fully coupled thermal-stress finite element model via ANSYS software has been developed. The Rate dependent Johnson-Cook relation was utilized for elasto-plastic work deformations. These variables are anodizing time 15,30 min. and sealing time 10,20 min., and the test by potentiostatic anodic polarization through electro chemical polarization measurements in solutions of 1N na2so4 ( PH= 1 ). The results are discussed in light of the rate of ionic current flow through the coating during anodic polarization measurements.
The effect of solution heat treatment on the mechanical properties of Aluminum-Copper alloy. (2024-T3) by the rolling process is investigated. The solution heat treatment was implemented by heating the sheets to 480 C° and quenching them by water; then forming by rolling for many passes. And then natural aging is done for one month. Mechanical properties (tensile strength and hardness) are evaluated and the results are compared with the metal without treatment during the rolling process. ANSYS analysis is used to show the stresses distribution in the sheet during the rolling process. Three parameters were considered in the hot pressing; temperature (180, 200 and 220°C), pressure (2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 bar) and time of pressing (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 minutes for 200ºC, and 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1 and 1.25 minutes for220ºC). Applied pressure has great effect on shear strength of the joint, corresponding to bonding time and temperature. In this work the study mainly investigated the inhibition behavior, and the adsorption properties of different concentrations of an aqueous extraction of thyme plant range (5-20) ppm at the temperature range (288-318) K for corrosion of dental amalgam in artificial saliva, by applying electrochemical method. The result showed good inhibitive action for all thyme extract concentration with slight decreases by increasing temperature. The physisorption for thyme extract compound on the surface of dental amalgam obeys Langmuir isotherm. The kinetic parameter for corrosion process and thermodynamic data for adsorption process has been calculated.
This work deals with the effect of adding aluminum nanoparticles on the mechanical properties, micro-hardness and porosity of memory-shape alloys (Cu-Al-Ni). These alloys have wide applications in various industrial fields such as (high damping compounds and self-lubricating applications).
