Evaluating public acceptance of the official medicine label and mobile verification application: a mixed-methods study applying the technology acceptance model
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background

The Iraqi pharmaceutical sector faces significant challenges arising from the prevalence of substandard and falsified (S/F) medications, which pose a direct threat to public health safety. To strengthen regulatory oversight, health authorities have implemented national medicine track-and-trace system. However, the ultimate efficacy of these regulatory tools is heavily dependent on public awareness and the level of societal acceptance.

Objective

This study aimed to evaluate acceptance of the official medicine label among Iraqi adults who purchase medicines from private pharmacies and to examine acceptance of the Gudea mobile verification application among respondents with actual app-use experience. The study also aimed to identify key Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)-related determinants associated with the use of these verification tools to combat S/F medicines.

Methods

An exploratory mixed-methods design, guided by the TAM, was employed. Semi-structured interviews with pharmacy customers examined barriers to adoption, followed by a structured survey (Google Form) of Iraqi adult medicine purchasers conducted between November 2025 and March 2026. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically, and quantitative data were analyzed using multiple regression.

Results

The qualitative phase included 15 interviewees, and the quantitative survey involved 553 respondents. Among survey participants, 328/553 (59.3%) reported that they had previously checked the official medicine label before purchasing medicines, while 315/553 (57.0%) agreed or strongly agreed that they regularly checked it. A total of 77.6% agreed that the label enhanced their confidence in Ministry of Health (MOH) oversight, and 75.9% reported that its design and placement made it easy to notice. Seventy participants (12.7%) reported previous use of the Gudea application. Among these users, 71.4% considered the application simple and practical, 85.7% reported that they would be more inclined to use it if recommended by pharmacists, and 74.3% intended to continue using it. In the official medicine label regression ( N  = 553), perceived usefulness, subjective norm, age, and education level were significantly associated with regular label checking. In the exploratory Gudea application regression ( n  = 70), age was the only statistically significant predictor (β = 0.225, p  = 0.026).

Conclusion

Among surveyed participants, the official medicine label was more frequently used than the Gudea application. The findings support the potential value of combining visible physical verification with optional digital verification, while highlighting possible areas for improvement in public awareness, technical performance, and pharmacist-supported engagement. Given the cross-sectional convenience sample and the relatively small app-user subgroup, these findings should be interpreted cautiously and confirmed in larger, more representative studies.

The problem of this paper is identified by knowing the role of the economic television media in shaping the audience's attitudes. It seeks to understand the type of relationship between the dependence of the economic elite audience on news bulletins and its cognitive implications. The categories of Iraqi society, namely, the economic elite category. This paper adopted the descriptive survey method for the period from 3/1/2022 - 6/31/2022. The sample was extracted according to the relative stratified sampling method in the city of Baghdad. A set of results has been concluded, the most prominent of which is the public's heavy reliance on economic news bulletins to obtain news and information, as indicated by (63%) of the respondents partic

Estimate Raw Water Salinity for the Tigris River for a Long Time Using a Mathematical Model
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The measurement data of the raw water quality of Tigris River were statistically analyzed to measure the salinity value in relation to the selected raw water quality parameters. The analyzed data were collected from five water treatment plants (WTPs) assembled alongside of the Tigris River in Baghdad: Al-Karkh, Al-Karama, Al-Qadisiya, Al-Dora, and Al-Wihda for the period from 2015 to 2021. The selected parameters are total dissolved solid (TDS), electrical conductivity (EC), pH and temperature. The main objective of this research is to predicate a mathematical model using SPSS software to calculate the value of salinity along the river, in addition, the effect of electrical conductivi</p> ... THE EVALUATION OF PUBLIC SERVICES IN BAQUBAH CITY BY USING REMOTE SENSING & GIS TECHNIQUES
...Show More Authors

Baqubah city has grown extremely rapidly. The rate of growth exceeds the growth of services that must grow side by side with the growth of population. There are natural features that affect the growth of Baqubah city such as Dieyala river, Alssariya river, in addition to agricultural areas .All these natural features affect the growth of Baqubah city in the running form being seen . In this research the remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) techniques are used for monitoring urban expansion and forecasting the probable axes to the growth of the city, and found that the probability of Baqubah growth to east is preferred due to Baqubah growth to the east would never interfere with natural features. A Cognition Path Planning with a Nonlinear Controller Design for Wheeled Mobile Robot Based on an Intelligent Algorithm
...Show More Authors

This paper presents a cognition path planning with control algorithm design for a nonholonomic wheeled mobile robot based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The aim of this work is to propose the circular roadmap (CRM) method to plan and generate optimal path with free navigation as well as to propose a nonlinear MIMO-PID-MENN controller in order to track the wheeled mobile robot on the reference path. The PSO is used to find an online tune the control parameters of the proposed controller to get the best torques actions for the wheeled mobile robot. The numerical simulation results based on the Matlab package show that the proposed structure has a precise and highly accurate distance of the generated refere
