Schiff base ligand (H2CANPT) was prepared by two steps: first, by the condensation of curcumin with 4-amino antipyrin produces4,4'-(((1E,3Z,5Z,6E)-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3- methoxyphenyl)hepta-1,6-diene-3,5-diylidene)bis(azanylylidene))bis(1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl- 1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one) (CANP). Second, by the condensation of (CANP) with L-tyrosine produces2,2'-(((3Z,3'Z)-(((1E,3Z,5Z,6E)-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)hepta 1,6-diene-3,5-diylidene)bis(azanylylidene))bis(1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3-H-pyrazole- 4-yl-3-ylidene))bis(azanylylidene))bis(3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid) (H2CANPT). The resulted Schiff comported as hexadentate coordinated with (N4O2) atoms, then it was treated with some transition and non-transaction metal ions, such as (Mn(II), Fe(III),Co(II), Ni(II) ,Cu(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) chloride and Ag(I) as nitrate to synthesize complexes. All the prepared compounds were identified using FT-IR, UV-visible, elemental analysis (C.H.N), 1H and13C-NMR, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility. Schiff base and its complexes were tested against two types of bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia Coli). Besides, they were tested as dyes on cotton fibres.
Three Schiff bases from Benzaldehyde and Salicylaldehyde have been synthesized (A, 1and 2) and two of them (1and 2) have been tested for anti-inflammatory activity. The p-aminobenzene sulfonamide has been synthesized from acetanilide through the addition of excess chlorosulfonic acid then concentrated ammonia solution; Schiff base of this derivative (2) exhibited good level of activity against egg-white induced edema in rat hind paw, while the other tested derivative exhibited no activity.

New polydentate ligand namely bis(N-carboxylatoethyl)-0,0`-dipyridinium) L was synthesised from the reaction of 0,0`-dipyridine with ethyl chloropropionate. Polymeric complexes of general formulae [Cr2(L)(N3)0]Cl2.H2O, Na2[Ag2(L)(N3)0].H2O and [M2(L)(N3)0].nH2O, where (M= Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); (where n = 2;1;1;1;4;1 and 1, respectively)) are reported. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determined through physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. These studies revealed octahedral geometry complexes. Molecular structure for the complexes has been optimised by CS Chem 3D Ultra Molecular Modelling and Analysis Program and supported a six coordinate geometry.
Poorly soluble drugs are often a challenge in product formulation. Generally, low aqueous solubility and poor bioavailability of drugs have restricted their application in various fields. Nanosuspensions enhance the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. Curcumin, a hydrophobic polyphenol, exhibits poor aqueous solubility (<1 μg/mL), and formulating it as nanosuspension can enhance its solubility. However, the optimal selection of preparation technique, solvent, stabilizer, and drug-to-stabilizer ratio is critical for formulation success for a successful formulation. This work aims to optimize the preparation process of Curcumin nanosuspension. In addition, it aims in screening of the effectiveness of different stabi
... Show MoreThe new azo dye was synthesized via the reaction of the diazonium salt form of 3-aminophenol with 2-hydroxyquinoline. This dye was then used to access a series of complexes with the chlorides of manganese, iron, zinc, cadmium, and vanadium sulfate. The prepared ligand and its complexes were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimeter, and microelemental analysis. Conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, metal content, and chlorine content of the complexes were also measured. The ligand and cadmium complex were identified using1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The results showed that the shape of the ligand is a trigonal planner, and the c
... Show MoreAnew Schiff base (NaHL) has been prepared from the reaction between the salt of amino acid glycine with 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde. By tridentate Schiff base of (ONO), donors were characterized by using U.V and spectrophotometer techniques. Complexes of Co(II) Ni(II) Cu(II) and Zn(II) ion with the ligand have been prepared, these complexes were identified by infrared, electronic spectral data, elemental analysis, magnetic moments, and molar conductivity measurements. It is concluded from the elemental analysis that all the complexes have (1:2) [metal:ligand] molar ratios, octahedral, with the exception to Zn(II) complex which have (1:1)[metal:ligand] molar ratio.

Show MoreIntroduction: Trichophyton indotineae has emerged globally as a highly contagious, terbinafine-resistant dermatophyte causing treatment-refractory superficial mycoses, posing a significant public health threat. This study evaluated the epidemiology of dermatophytosis in Babylon Province, Iraq, and performed molecular identification and phylogenetic analysis of local clinical isolates. Methods: Clinical specimens from 258 patients aged 1 to 71 years were analyzed. Following phenotypic characterization, genomic DNA was extracted from three representative isolates. Polymerase chain reaction amplified the internal transcribed spacer region, followed by DNA sequencing and neighbor-joining phylogenetic analysis. Results: Tinea corporis was

The present study aimed to diagnose M. canis via the molecular method and differentiating its local Iraqi isolates from global isolates. Microscopic examination showed 55 specimens with M. canis from 130 specimens collected from children aged between 4-10 years suspected of dermatophytes who attended Medical City Laboratories and Baghdad Hospital in Baghdad city from 1/12/2022 to 1/3/2023. The results showed that the frequency of M. canis infections was 55/130 (42.31%). The results demonstrated significant differences in the animals' contact (p <0.0001), lesions (0.03) and habitation area (p =0.002). Whilst

The prepared ligand was identified by Microelemental Analysis, 1H-NMR, FT-IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. Treatment of the prepared ligand with Y(III) and La(III) metal ions in 1:3 M:L ratio in aqueous ethanol at optimum pH yielded a series of neutral complexes with the general formula of [M(L)3]. The prepared complexes were characterized by flame atomic absorption, Elemental Analysis (C, H, N), FT-IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods, as well as conductivity measurements. We also prepare the metal complexes of poly (vinyl- 4-aminobenzoate) and antimicrobial properties were evaluated by dilute method against five pathogenic bacteria (Escherichia coli, Shigella dysentery, Klebsiella pneumonae, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus Albus) and two fungal (Aspergillus Niger, Yeast). All polymer metal complexes showed different activities against the various microbial isolates. The polymer metal complexes showed higher activity than the free polymer.
