Clinicopathological Study of Oral Giant Cell Fibroma
...Show More Authors

Giant Cell Fibroma (GCF) is a relatively rare oral mucosal lesion, so named due to the characteristic giant cells present within the fibrous stroma of the lesion, limited number of clinicopathological studies were performed in previously published literature. This study was performed to evaluate the clinicopathological features of Giant cell fibroma in a sample of Iraqi patients. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections from 22 giant cell fibroma in period between 2010 and 2018 were retrieved from the laboratory of oral pathology of Baghdad University/College of Dentistry, Clinical data and microscopic features were reviewed and analyzed according to the available surgical reports. The mean age of patients at the time of diagnosis was 29.68 years with slight female predilections (1.4:1), the gingiva is the most common site of occurrence (36.4%), the lesions were 2-10 mm in greatest dimension. The most frequent provisional diagnosis is fibroma (54.5%) and papilloma (27.3%). Histologically, the distinctive diagnostic feature is the presence of mono, bi or multinucleated large stellate giant cells with a mean of 48.59 which is most numerous in the lamina properia beneath the epithelium.

A Pragmatic Study of English Honorific Forms
...Show More Authors

It is axiomatic that languages mirror  the world view of their users. Manipulating honorific forms  among people inevitably reflects this truth . Honorifics are conventionalized forms or expressions  manifested in all the world's languages and  are used to  express the social status of the participants in the verbal interaction and to convey indications like politeness and respect  . English is no exception. However the question is what exactly creates these forms and their meanings. Although  honorifics have been extensively researched from a grammatical and semantic  angle  , yet they haven’t received that significant  attention  i

The genera and species of Liliaceae show a considerable structural diversity of leaves and especially stems. This paper presents a morphological and anatomical study of the leaves and stems of Asphodelus microcarpus. The results showed that the investigated species had typical morphological characters. and also that it could be distinguished from another plant not only by its morphological but anatomical characters as well.

Analytical Study of Medical Image Combination Techniques
...Show More Authors

Image combination is a technique that fuses two or more medical images taken with different conditions or imaging devices into a single image contain complete information. In this study relied on mathematical, statistical and spatial techniques, to fuse MRI images that captured horizontal and vertical times (T1, T2),  and applied a method of supervised classification based on the minimum distance before and after combination process, then examine the quality of the resulting image based on the statistical standards resulting from the analysis of edge analysis, showing the results to identify the best techniques adopted in combination process, determine the exact details in each class and between classes.

Synthesis and microbiological study of new sulfonamides
...Show More Authors

In contrast to the classical antibacterial sulfa drugs that are unsubstituted or monosubstituted, our newly synthesized analogs were designed to obtain sulfonamide moiety containing disubstituted hetero nitrogen atom. These compounds were formed successfully by chlorosulfonation of acetanilide and the product was treated with different cyclic amines and finally amide hydrolysis was necessary to get agents that were analyzed for IR, UV, CHN, melting points and solubility. At last, we studied their antibacterial activity on certain types of bacteria and we noticed the inactivity due to possible steric factor. Principly, this means these products have no inhibiting action against the used microbes.

Biochemical Study of Gallstones Compositions in Iraqipatients
...Show More Authors

The aim of this study is to determine the organic and inorganic components of bile and gallstones in Iraqi patients. Forty seven patients were included in this study with mean age (53+7) years and BMI (30.82+4.18) Kg/m2. Bile was classified according to its corresponding stones into: Bile of Mixed stones and Bile of pigment stones. IR spectra were studied for both types of stones and their bile in addition to biochemical analysis for organic and inorganic components. The organic components include: (cholesterol, bilirubin, bile salts, and phospholipids), while inorganic components include salts of: (calcium, phosphorus, iron, cupper and magnesium). The results reveal to there was significant low levels (p<0.005) of bile salts and phospholi
