The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated new methods for controlling the spread of the virus, and machine learning (ML) holds promise in this regard. Our study aims to explore the latest ML algorithms utilized for COVID-19 prediction, with a focus on their potential to optimize decision-making and resource allocation during peak periods of the pandemic. Our review stands out from others as it concentrates primarily on ML methods for disease prediction. To conduct this scoping review, we performed a Google Scholar literature search using "COVID-19," "prediction," and "machine learning" as keywords, with a custom range from 2020 to 2022. Of the 99 articles that were screened for eligibility, we selected 20 for the final review. Our systematic literature review demonstrates that ML-powered tools can alleviate the burden on healthcare systems. These tools can analyze significant amounts of medical data and potentially improve predictive and preventive healthcare.
<p>Combating the COVID-19 epidemic has emerged as one of the most promising healthcare the world's challenges have ever seen. COVID-19 cases must be accurately and quickly diagnosed to receive proper medical treatment and limit the pandemic. Imaging approaches for chest radiography have been proven in order to be more successful in detecting coronavirus than the (RT-PCR) approach. Transfer knowledge is more suited to categorize patterns in medical pictures since the number of available medical images is limited. This paper illustrates a convolutional neural network (CNN) and recurrent neural network (RNN) hybrid architecture for the diagnosis of COVID-19 from chest X-rays. The deep transfer methods used were VGG19, DenseNet121
... Show MoreEarly and accurate detection of COVID-19 from chest computed tomography (CT) scans are becoming essential for effective clinical decision-making and disease control. This study is proposing a robust deep learning framework that integrates a convolutional self-attention network (CSAN), gamma correction for image enhancement, and a voting-based ensemble classifier to improving diagnostic performance. The model is being evaluated on a dataset of 2,271 CT images and is achieving an accuracy of 95.12%, sensitivity of 97.25%, specificity of 98.11%, F1-score of 96.46%, and area under the curve (AUC) of 0.977. Experimental results are demonstrating that the proposed method significantly surpasses baseline models, including standalone CSAN,

To find out the GIT symptoms are into patients with Covid-19 and how they correspond with the severity of the illness. At the Al-Shifaa facility, 172 patients infected with COVID-19 participated in our study. A clinical examination, laboratory tests (CRP, D.Dimer, and serum ferritin), a chest CT scan, and a medical history were performed on each patient. The severity of the illness and other factors were taken into consideration while evaluating the gastrointestinal symptoms. Data collection from 172 patients, 91 patients infected with COVID-19 infection, 91 patients (52.9%) had GIT
... Show MoreText categorization refers to the process of grouping text or documents into classes or categories according to their content. Text categorization process consists of three phases which are: preprocessing, feature extraction and classification. In comparison to the English language, just few studies have been done to categorize and classify the Arabic language. For a variety of applications, such as text classification and clustering, Arabic text representation is a difficult task because Arabic language is noted for its richness, diversity, and complicated morphology. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis and a comparison for researchers in the last five years based on the dataset, year, algorithms and the accuracy th

Show MoreThis paper offers a systemic review of the deep learning methods to detect violence on campus, which is a critical issue in intelligent surveillance to improve the student safety and prompt cut off of violent accidents. The review reviews studies published 2018-2025, concentrating on model structure to detect fights, bullying, vandalism, and aggressive behavior on problematic campuses due to occlusion and light variations and complicated human interactions. The research design includes a comparative study of different deep learning networks, such as CNNs, RNNs, 3D CNNs, attention-based networks, transformers, graph neural networks, neuro-fuzzy, and multimodal systems and federated learning methods. The paper also assesses benchmark
... Show MoreVariation in DNA, and genes to a lesser or greater extent, can play an important role in most diseases; that is because this variation in will reflect and affect the function of DNA, and genes (combined genes and DNA or separately). This can be affected by environment, life style, as well as the inheriting from parents and previous generations. All these factors can contribute in human diseases. There are different alterations in genes, like imbalance and inequality in chromosomes, disorder in gene (deficiency in gene, which could be complex or single disorder), and cancer. In the last decades, scientists were focus on medicine and genetics; they pay an extensive attention to reach better understanding about diseases and their cause
... Show MorePulsatile drug delivery systems (PDDS) are developed to deliver drug according to circadian behavior of diseases. They deliver the drug at the right time, action and in the right amount, which provides more benefit than conventional dosages and increased patient compliance. The drug is released rapidly and completely as a pulse after a lag time. These systems are beneficial for drugs with chrono-pharmacological behavior, where nighttime dosing is required and for the drugs having a high first-pass effect and having specific site of absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. This article covers methods and marketed technologies that have been developed to achieve pulsatile delivery. Diseases wherein PDDS are promising include asthma, peptic u
... Show MoreEmpirical and statistical methodologies have been established to acquire accurate permeability identification and reservoir characterization, based on the rock type and reservoir performance. The identification of rock facies is usually done by either using core analysis to visually interpret lithofacies or indirectly based on well-log data. The use of well-log data for traditional facies prediction is characterized by uncertainties and can be time-consuming, particularly when working with large datasets. Thus, Machine Learning can be used to predict patterns more efficiently when applied to large data. Taking into account the electrofacies distribution, this work was conducted to predict permeability for the four wells, FH1, FH2, F
