Purpose: To compare the central corneal thickness (CCT),minimum corneal thickness (MCT) and corneal power measured using theScheimpflug-Placido device and optical coherence tomography (OCT) in healthy eyes. Study Design: Descriptive observational. Place and Duration of Study: Al-Kindy college of medicine/university of Baghdad, from June 2021 to April 2022. Methods: A total of 200 eyes of 200 individuals were enrolled in this study. CCT and MCT measurements were carried out using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (Optovue) and a Scheimpflug-Placido topographer (Sirius). The agreement between the two approaches was assessed using Bland-Altman analysis in this study. Results: Mean age was 28.54 ± 6.6 years, mean spherical equivalent of refraction was -3.57 ± 3.35 D. Mean CCT by Optovue, and Sirius were534.13 ± 27.88 μm, and 540.2 ± 27.85μm, respectively.Mean CCT differences between them were -6.070± 6.593 μm, (p < 0.05). Minimum thickness by Optovue was 526.79 ± 27.81, and by Sirius was 537.44 ± 27.56, mean difference between the two devices was 10.66 ± 6.89,p= 0.00. The net power by OCT was 43.44 ± 1.456, mean K by Sirius was 43.597 ± 1.408, with p=0.000. Maximum level of agreement between the two devices is -18.99 to 6.85 for CCT, is widest for minimum thickness -24.166 to 2.85 and narrowest for differences between net corneal power by OCT and mean K By Sirius is -0.87 to 1.18. Conclusion: In clinical practice, the two devices cannot be used interchangeably. CCT and keratometry should be evaluated and followed up using the same device.
An efficient networks’ energy consumption and Quality of Services (QoS) are considered the most important issues, to evaluate the route quality of the designed routing protocol in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). This study is presented an evaluation performance technique to evaluate two routing protocols: Secure for Mobile Sink Node location using Dynamic Routing Protocol (SMSNDRP) and routing protocol that used K-means algorithm to form Data Gathered Path (KM-DGP), on small and large network with Group of Mobile Sinks (GMSs). The propose technique is based on QoS and sensor nodes’ energy consumption parameters to assess route quality and networks’ energy usage. The evaluation technique is conducted on two routing protocols i
... Show MoreLinear attenuation coefficient of polymer composite for beta particles and bremsstrahlung ray were investigated as a function of the absorber thickness and energy. The attenuation coefficient were obtained using NaI(Tl) energy selective scintillation counter with 90Sr/90Y beta source having an energy range from 0.1-1.1 MeV. The present results show the capability of this composite to absorber beta particles and bremsstrahlung ray that yield from it. That’s mean it is useful to choice this composite for radiation shielding of beta ray with low thickness.

Background: Prolonged use of low-dose estrogen ''20 micrograms or less" Combined oral contraceptive pill (that have estrogen and progesterone steroid hormone) had an effect on bone turnover .Bone mineral density is used in clinical medicine as an indirect indicator of osteoporosis and fracture risk. The aim of the study: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of low dose oral contraceptive pill on the cortical thickness (in millimeter) and bone mineral density at the mandibular cortex of mental and gonial regions in Hounsfield unit(HU) using spiral computed tomography. Material and method: This prospective study was conducted on computed tomographic image of 100 women aged between (20-40) years .The collected sample includes

The radon concentrations in soil samples measured by using alpha-emitters registration that emits from radon (222Rn) in (CR-39) track detector. The concentrations values were calculated by a comparison with standard samples. The results show that the radon concentrations in first spring varies from (258.253- 347.762 Bq/m3), second spring (230.374-305.209 Bq/m3), third spring (292.002-336.023 Bq/m3) and the average radon concentration in other regions (187.821 Bq/m3). As a conclusion of the study radon concentration in Sulphuric Spring is r

(2) Identify the difference in parents’ efficacy for child healthy weight behavior between the groups of parent’s gender, family’s socioeconomic status, child’s gender, and child’s birth order, (3) Find out the relationship between parents’ age, child’s age, child’s body mass index, family’s socioeconomic status, the number of children in the family and parents’ efficacy for child healthy weight behavior.
Methodology: A descriptive correlational study is conducted for the period from November 11th, 2018 to March 25th, 2019 to assess the parents' efficacy for child healthy weight behavior. The study was carried-out in (
Objectives. This study aimed at finding out whether anterior teeth angulation and inclination have a relationship with the maxillary teeth and dental arch dimensions. Methods. Fifty study models with normal occlusion were selected from the archive of the Department of Orthodontics at Baghdad Dental Faculty. Maxillary dental arch width and length at different points were determined in addition to measuring anterior teeth angulation, inclination, crown thickness, overjet, overbite, and Bolton’s ratios. The unpaired t-test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient test were used for data analysis. Results. No statistical gender differences were reported in all measurements except the dental arch widths and length where males had signif
... Show MoreAbsorption and lifetime measurements were made for C6H6. and C6D6 molecules in pure solid phase and in solid matrices of Ar, N2, CO, and CO2. All measurement are made at low temperatures ranging between 12-50 K. A modified least square fitting deconvolution was utilized to measure the fluorescence lifetime with an error less than 1%. The results show that the use of matrix isolation technique offer a unique environment that minimize the perturbation of the molecular or atomic system and hence facilitate spectral analysis.
