Background. Aneurysms of the distal anterior cerebral artery (DACA) are uncommon; they often form near the pericallosal-callosomarginal junction and are typically small. To our knowledge, giant DACA aneurysms developing from the more distant parts of the anterior cerebral artery (ACA), A4-5, have been described only once in the literature. Case description. A 66-year-old gentleman reported with a brief loss of consciousness followed by weakness in his right lower leg. The patient was admitted with a Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) of 15. A computed tomography (CT) scan of the head revealed a left hyperdense mass in the frontal parasagittal supracallosal region. Contrast MRI revealed a heterogeneously enhancing mass measuring 35x30x25 mm. CT angiography (CTA) revealed a small saccular aneurysm on the posteromedial aspect of the mass, perpendicular to the vertical plane of the coronal suture, corresponding to the A4-A5 junction of the left ACA. Through a left paramedian craniotomy, a modified anterior interhemispheric approach that was more posterior than the conventional projection was performed. A giant partially thrombosed was found. The aneurysm was resected, and the neck was reconstructed using four clips placed on top of them to enhance the clipping force over any remaining thrombus. The patient recovered as expected and was neurologically intact three months later. Conclusion. Giant distal anterior cerebral artery (DACA) aneurysms found in the A4-A5 segment represent a pathologically uncommon phenomenon. Due to the rarity of giant aneurysms at this location, their reporting is important to inform meticulous pre-operative planning.
In this paper, a discrete SIS epidemic model with immigrant and treatment effects is proposed. Stability analysis of the endemic equilibria and disease-free is presented. Numerical simulations are conformed the theoretical results, and it is illustrated how the immigrants, as well as treatment effects, change current model behavior
Using fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) could effectively improve the strength and endurance of reinforced concrete (RC) constructions. This study evaluated the flexural behavior of one-way concrete slabs with openings reinforced with glass fiber-reinforced polymers (GFRP) bars. It strengthened using carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets around the openings. The experimental program of this study is adopted by casting and testing four one-way concrete slabs with dimensions of (150*750*2650) mm. These slabs are divided into two groups based on whether they were strengthened or un-strengthened. For each group, two different openings (either one rectangular or two square) measured 250*500 mm and 250*250 mm, respective

Two boundary conditions were used to solve the potential flow about complex configurations of airplanes. Dirichlet boundary condition and Neumann formulation are frequently applied to the configurations that have thick and thin surfaces respectively. Mixed boundary conditions were used in the present work to simulate the connection between thick fuselage and thin wing surfaces. The matrix of linear equations was solved every time step in a marching technique with Kelvin's theorem for the unsteady wake modeling. To make the method closer to the experimental data, a Nonlinear stripe theory which is based on a two-dimensional viscous-inviscid interac

Deepfakes are committed to fabricating and falsifying facts by making a person do actions or say words that he never did or said. So that developing an algorithm for deepfakes detection is very important to discriminate real from fake media. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are among the most complex classifiers, but choosing the nature of the data fed to these networks is extremely important. For this reason, we capture fine texture details of input data frames using 16 Gabor filters indifferent directions and then feed them to a binary CNN classifier instead of using the red-green-blue

Show MoreThe purpose of this paper is to solve the stochastic demand for the unbalanced transport problem using heuristic algorithms to obtain the optimum solution, by minimizing the costs of transporting the gasoline product for the Oil Products Distribution Company of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. The most important conclusions that were reached are the results prove the possibility of solving the random transportation problem when the demand is uncertain by the stochastic programming model. The most obvious finding to emerge from this work is that the genetic algorithm was able to address the problems of unbalanced transport, And the possibility of applying the model approved by the oil products distribution company in the Iraqi Ministry of Oil to m
... Show MoreBACKGROUND: Preeclampsia (PE) is a possible etiology of obstetrical and neonatal complications which are increased in resource-limited settings and developing countries. AIM: We aimed to find out the prevalence of PE in Iraqi ladies and specific outcomes, including gestational weight gain (GWG), cesarean section (CS), preterm delivery (PD), and low birth weight (LBW). METHODS: All singleton pregnant women visiting our tertiary center for delivery were involved over 3 years. PE women were compared with non-PE ladies. Complete history and examination were done during pregnancy and after delivery by the attending obstetrician and neonatologist with full documentation in medical records. RESULTS: PE prevalence was 4.79

Show MoreThe impact of a simple trailing-edge plain flap on the aerodynamics of the SD7037 airfoil have been studied in this paper using computational fluid dynamics at Reynolds number of 3×105 across various low angles of attack and flap deflection angles. The computational model was evaluated by using Star CCM+ software with κ--ω SST turbulence and gamma transition model to solve Navier-Stokes equations. The accuracy of the computational model has been confirmed through comparison with experimental data, showing a high level of agreement at low angles of attack. The findings revealed that specific combinations of angles of attack and flap deflection angles could increase the lift-to-drag ratio by over 70% compared to baseline conditions, benefi

Show MoreBackground: The immediate effect of breast cancer and its treatment on the patient's psychological status and later adaptation of the patient with diagnosis and treatment of the disease may be led to disturbances in the quality of life of the patients. Objective: To measure Quality of life (QOL) in females with breast cancer, to find the factors that can improve their QOL and to identify the sociodemographic and clinical factors that have an influence on the QOL. Methods: The study sample was a convenient non-random sample of 103 patients diagnosed to have breast cancer at least one month after diagnosis. The data were collected by face-to-face interviews which took about 15-20 minutes with each patient, to fill out a standard questionnaire
