Synthesis and Characterization of some new heterocyclic derivatives from aromatic carbonyl ‎compounds and carboxylic acids with Evaluation some of them for biological activity
...Show More Authors

In this research investigation, a total of eighteen diverse tetra- and penta-lateral cyclic compounds were synthesized. These included 1,3,4-thiadiazole, thiazolidin-4-one (via an alternative method), 1,2,4-triazole, carbothioamide, thiazole-4-one, azetidin-2-one, and oxazole. The synthesis procedure entailed a sequence of reactions. The thiazolidine-4-one 1 was obtained by reaction p-aminobenzoic acid with thiosemicarbazide, followed by treatment with p-tolualdehyde to produce Schiff base 2. Reaction Schiff base 2 with mercaptoacetic acid in dry benzene was carried out to produce thiazolidine-4-one 3. In another synthesis pathway, the esterification of p-nitro benzoic acid with ethanol in the presence of sulfuric acid was obtained to formation of compound 4. Compound 4 was subsequently reacted with thiosemicarbazide, yielding compound 5. Cyclization of compound 5 was then achieved using 4% sodium hydroxide solution. This formed the 1,2,4-triazole heterocycle, designated compound 6. Thiosemicarbazone 7-9 were prepared by reaction of thiosemicarbazide with different aldehydes. Additionally, 2-substituted-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one derivatives 10-12 were synthesized through the reaction of thiosemicarbazone with chloroacetic acid in the presence of anhydrous sodium acetate. The Oxazole derivative 15 was obtained through a series of reactions starting with the reaction of p-amino benzoic acid with ethyl chloroacetate, resulting in compound 13. Compound 13 was then treated with urea to obtain compound 14, followed by a reaction with 4-phenyl phenacyl bromide to yield the final product, the Oxazole derivative 15. The 2-aminooxadiazole derivative 16 was synthesized by reaction urea with 4-bromoacetophenone which was reacted with 4-bromobenzaldehyde to produce Schiff base derivative 17. Finally, β-lactam 18 is obtained through reaction Schiff base with chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of triethyl amine. FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopy were used to confirm their proposed structures. Moreover, the antibacterial and antifungal activities of certain synthesized compounds, specifically 2,3,6,11,13,15,17, and 18, were assessed against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans, demonstrating encouraging outcomes. Keywords: Antibacterial, antifungal activity, oxadaizole, heterocyclic derivatives, Oxazole.

Determination the Optimum Conditions of the Activity and Stability of Lipase Extracted from Sunflower Germinated Seeds
...Show More Authors

The present study was conducted to determine the optimum conditions required for lipase enzyme activity extracted from germinated sunflower seeds, including temperature, pH, agitation, time of incubation, enzyme concentration, substrate type, and concentrations of mineral salts and EDTA. Optimum pH, temperature and time of incubation required for lipase stability were also determined. The results showede optimum lipase activity (3.251U/ml) wasund at 30 ÌŠC and pH 7 after 20 minutes of incubation when using 1 ml lipase enzyme with 0.02 ml of CaCl2 (10 mM) at 100 rpm of agitation and in the presence of olive oil as the substrate for enzyme reaction. EDTA appeared to have inhibitory effects, while Ca+2 and Mg+2<

Green Synthesis of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles and Their Modification with CTAB for the Decolorization of Dye Reactive Blue 238
...Show More Authors

Magnetized iron oxide nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared using Eucalyptus leaf extract and then coated with CTAB (Cetrimonium bromide) to increase efficiency. The prepared and modified (NPs) were characterized using AFM, FTIR, and X-ray techniques. The adsorption of the dye reactive blue RB 238 on coated (NPs) was investigated. The effect of various experimental factors, such as the initial concentration of the dye, the amount of adsorbent, pH and temperature on the removal of RB238 was studied. The best conditions for dye removal were found to be 298 K in an acidic medium of pH = 3 and an appropriate dose of the adsorbent of 0.15 g per 25 mg/L to achieve the best color removal of 90% within 60 minutes. The pseudo-second-order re

Antibiotic resistance has been a growing worldwide public health issue. The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that the search for new antibiotics is slow, while antibiotic resistance is growing. WHO has also declared that antibiotic resistance is one of the top 10 global public health threats facing humanity in the 21st century. Therefore, this review discusses the potential of metal-based drugs as antibacterial agents from the period of the early 2000s to date. The review reveals that a lot of preliminary work has been done to assess these as potential drugs. However, their mode of action is faintly described. Furthermore, a few examples of metal-based drugs assessed for their modes of action are described. These compounds are ide

New Approach for Determination of Oxonium Ion in Inorganic Acids by Quenched Fluorescence of Analytically Interested Species via the Liberated Bromine Using Continuous Flow Injection Laser Diode Fluorimeter Analyser
...Show More Authors

A new method is characterized by simplicity, accuracy and speed for determination of Oxonuim ion in ionisable inorganic acid such as hydrochloric (0.1 - 10) ,Sulphuric ( 0.1 - 6 ),nitric ( 0.1 - 10 ), perchloric ( 0.1 - 7 ), acetic (0.1 - 100 ) and phosphoric ( 0.1 - 30 ) ( mMol.L-1 )acids. By continuous flow injection analysis. The proposed method was based on generation of bromine from the Bro-3-Br-- H3O+. Bromine reacts with fluorescein to quenches the fluorescence . A sample volume no.1 (31μl) and no.2 (35μl) were used with flow rate of 0.95 mL.min-1 using H2O line no.1as carrier stream and 1.3 mL.min-1 using fluorescein sodium salt line no.2. Linear regression of the concentration ( mMol.L-1 ) Vs quenched fluorescence gives a correla

Study Some Immunological Parameters in Rabbits Immunized with Cryptococcus neoformans
...Show More Authors

The aims of this study were to prepare Cryptococcus neoformans killed whole cell antigen and evaluate their effects by using DTH- skin test and the differential white blood cells in local rabbits.
Fourteen animals of both sexes were divided randomly into two groups. The first group (7 animals) was immunized with 1 ml of Cryptococcus neoformans killed whole cell antigen (1x 10 cells/ml), subcutaneously. A booster dose was given after 14 days of the first dose. The second group (7 animals) was considered as control group. Based on results of DTH-skin test, no significant differences (P< 0.05) were recorded between the concentrations, 15 mg/ml and 7.5 mg/ml after 24, 48 and 72 hrs., but there was a significant differences (P<0.05)

FUNCTIONALITY OF TAUTOLOGY IN SOME SELECTE AMERICAN SONG LYRICS AND POEMS
...Show More Authors

Although the term' tautology' predicts negative connotation, it is often employed by poets and lyric writers to communicate more implied meanings. Through the use of tautological expressions, they exchange ideas, give more possibilities to readers to detect the meaning behind the tautological words and thus suggest details not openly communicated in the poem. Ten American song lyrics and ten American poems have been selected to be the data for the study. Data analysis is conducted on the basis of three steps:(i) identifying the type of tautology used ,(ii) detecting the syntactic realization of the tautology  and (iii) finding the functions of the use of tautology in these lyrics and poems. The study concludes that song lyrics and p
