Spectroscopic study of dielectric barrier discharge argon plasma at different gas flow rates
...Show More Authors

Dielectric barrier discharges (DBD) can be described as the presence of contact with the discharge of one or more insulating layers located between two cylindrical or flat electrodes connected to an AC/pulse dc power supply. In this work, the properties of the plasma generated by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) system without and with a glass insulator were studied. The plasma was generated at a constant voltage of 4 kV and fixed distance between the electrodes of 5 mm, and with a variable flow rate of argon gas (0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5) L/min. The emission spectra of the DBD plasmas at different flow rates of argon gas have been recorded. Boltzmann plot method was used to calculate the plasma electron temperature (Te), and Stark broadening method was used to calculate the electron density (ne). © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc.. Dielectric and gas sensing properties of in situ electrochemically polymerized PPy-MgO-WO3 nanocomposite films
...Show More Authors

A polypyrrole-based ammonia-detection gas sensor was studied in this work. Under a 1.6 V electrodeposition potential, polypyrrole (PPy) was electrochemically synthesized from an aqueous solution of 0.1 M pyrrole and 0.1 M oxalic acid. An extension to the polypyrrole films was applied through electrochemical deposition on indium tin oxide (ITO), using the metal oxide nanoparticles of MgO and WO3. These films were investigated for their sensing behavior towards NH3 at different working temperatures and different weight percentages of nanoparticles .The measurements of A.C conductivity were conducted over a frequency range of 101-105 Hz and temperature range of 298-423 K .

Measurement of 222Rn gas Concentrations and Radon Exhalation Rates in Some Cigarettes Tobacco Samples
...Show More Authors

Twelve cigarette  tobacco samples of various brands and origins   were gathered from local markets of Iraq. . The CRn  was determined utilizing CR-39 track detectors which were exposed to the various brands of cigarettes tobacco for 45 days. The  results demonstrated that the highest value of 222Rn concentration was )157 Bq/m3( in Macbeth cigarette sample of Brazilian origin and the lowest value of CRn was (76.3 Bq/m3 (in Sumer cigarette sample of Iraqi origin, with an average value of (106.53±22.3 Bq/m3). The outcomes have demonstrated that cigarettes of a Brazilian origin contain higher CRn tha

Pentacene Based Organic Field Effect Transistor Using Different Gate Dielectric
...Show More Authors

This paper presents the electrical behavior of the top contact/ bottom gate of an organic field-effect transistor (OFET) utilizing Pentacene as a semiconductor layer with two distinctive gate dielectric materials Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and Zirconium oxide (ZrO2) were chosen. The influence of the monolayer and bilayer gates insulator on OFET performance was investigated. MATLAB software was used to simulate and determine the electrical characteristics of a device. The output and transfer characteristics were studied for ZrO2, PVP and ZrO2/PVP as an organic gate insulator layer. Both characteristics show a high drain current at the gate dielectric ZrO2/PVP equal to -0.0031A and -0.0015A for output and transfer characteristics respectively

Plasma parameters of Au nano-particles ablated on porous silicon produced via Nd-YAG laser at 355 nm for sensing NH3 gas
...Show More Authors

The current study aimed the syntheses and characterizations of Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) using a laser ablation Q-switched Nd: YAG laser with a wave-length of 355 nm at a variety of laser pulse energies (E) and deposited on porous silicon (PS). Optical emission spectrometer was used to diagnosed medium air to study gold plasma characteristics and prepared Au nanoparticles. The laser pulse energy influence has been studied on the plasma characteristics in air. The data showed the emergence of the ionic (Au II) spectral emission lines in the gold plasma emission spectrum. XRD has been utilized to examine structural characteristics. Moreover, AFM results 37.2 nm as the mean value of the diameter that is coordinated in a shape similar to the

A Comparative Study on the Electrical Characteristics of Generating Plasma by Using Different Target Sources
...Show More Authors

In this research, the electrical characteristics of glow discharge plasma were studied. Glow discharge plasma generated in a home-made DC magnetron sputtering system, and a DC-power supply of high voltage as input to the discharge electrodes were both utilized. The distance between two electrodes is 4cm. The gas used to produce plasma is argon gas which flows inside the chamber at a rate of 40 sccm. The influence of work function for different target materials (gold, copper, and silver), - 5cm in diameter and around 1mm thickness - different working pressures, and different applied voltages on electrical characteristics (discharge current, discharge potential, and Paschen’s curve) were studied. The results showed that the discharge cur

Field and laboratory experiments were performed to evaluate the allelopathic
potential of sorghum residues alone or in combination with reduced rate of trifluralin
herbicide on weeds in mung bean field. The field experiment was conducted during
2014 season at the Research Farm of Biology Department, College of Science,
Baghdad University by using randomized complete Block design (RCBD) to test the
effect of sorghum residues at rates of 5 and 10 t ha-1 alone or in combination with
reduced doses of trifluralin (30 and 60% of recommended dose) on weeds and mung
bean crop. Weedy check and label rate of trifluralin (2.4 Lha-1) were also included
for comparison. Each treatment was replicated four times. Total phenolics

The Influence of the Magnetic Field on the Plasma Characteristics in Hollow Electrodes Discharge System
...Show More Authors

This work is an experimental study about the effects of gas pressure and magnetic field on plasma characteristics produced in an internal hollow electrodes discharge (HED) system. The results show that the breakdown voltage values increase with increasing the working pressure (especially with the presence of a magnetic field). The breakdown voltage depends on the p.d. product, where p is the gas pressure and d is the distance between the electrodes. While the values of current discharge decrease with the increase of the working pressure. The temperature of electron and the number density of electron are calculated from the Boltzmann method and the broadening of Stark, respectively. The results showed that the electron number d
