Three-dimensional seismic reflection study was conducted for the Eastern
Baghdad oil field which is located in the middle part of Iraq within Al-Madaaen
province that belong to Baghdad governarate, South of Diyala River , this field
includes two southern parts (S1 and S2), the study area was about 781.905 km 2 for
the upper Cretaceous age, synthetic seismogram was generated from data of EB-5
and EB-1 wells. Saadi reflector was picked and identified to determine the Hartha
Formation. The seismic sections and time slice maps confirmed that the upper
Cretaceous age was affected by faults and the indicators of faults ended within
Hartha Formation and continue to the deeper formations with increasing intensity.

This research studies the influence of water source on the compressive strength of high strength concrete. Four types of water source were adopted in both mixing and curing process these are river, tap, well and drainage water (all from Iraq-Diyala governorate). Chemical analysis was carried out for all types of the used water including (pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), Turbidity, chloride, total suspended solid (TSS), and sulfates). Depending on the chemical analysis results, it was found that for all adopted sources the chemical compositions was within the ASTM C 1602/C 1602M-04 limits and can be satisfactorily used in concrete mixtures. Drilling with casing (DWC) can be considered as a modern drilling technique in which both of drilling and casing operations done in the same time by using the casing to transfer the hydraulic and mechanical power to the bit instead of traditional drilling string. To overcome oil well control, minimizing the total cost through enhancing drilling efficiency, drilling with casing was proposed as an enabling technology.

Research aims to develop a novel technique for segmental beam fabrication using plain concrete blocks and externally bonded Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers Laminates (CFRP) as a main flexural reinforcement.
