Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, one of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), is found in various foods, including dairy products, meat, and vegetables, and most of these bacteria offer beneficial effects to humans and animals as potential probiotics with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities. The aim of this study was evaluating the antibacterial efficacy of L. plantarum against some foodborne bacteria isolated from dairy products. This research involved 34 dairy products, including local and imported milk, cheese, and yogurt sold locally in Baghdad province, Iraq, during May 2022. For the isolation of L. plantarum, a special medium called MRS (de Man Rogosa and Sharpe) was applied. Colonies were purified and identified by routine bacteriological methods, Vitek2 system, and confirmed by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) targeting the 16S rRNA gene followed by the amplicon sequencing. Other aerobic bacteria contaminating dairy products were also isolated onto sterile selective media specific for each microorganism, and the isolates were identified by routine diagnostics tests followed by verification with Vitek2 system. Then, the culture supernatant of L. plantarum was tested for its antagonistic activity toward foodborne bacteria by the use of agar well diffusion assay. The findings showed the isolation of 2 L. plantarum, 3 Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 4 Escherichia coli, one isolate of Bacillus subtilis, and another Staphylococcus hominis. The filtered supernatant of L. plantarum was significantly efficient in inhibiting the growth of the above bacteria. Each of E. coli and B. subtilis revealed zones of inhibition of 36 and 38 mm in diameter, respectively, while P. aeruginosa and S. hominis had inhibition zones diameters of 27 and 29 mm, respectively. This suggests that the L. plantarum supernatant possesses a broad-spectrum activity against foodborne bacteria. To conclude, locally made dairy products can hold different contaminating bacteria, which can be eliminated by using probiotics, such as L. plantarum, to avoid foodborne diseases onset.
The transportation model is a well-recognized and applied algorithm in the distribution of products of logistics operations in enterprises. Multiple forms of solution are algorithmic and technological, which are applied to determine the optimal allocation of one type of product. In this research, the general formulation of the transport model by means of linear programming, where the optimal solution is integrated for different types of related products, and through a digital, dynamic, easy illustration Develops understanding of the Computer in Excel QM program. When choosing, the implementation of the form in the organization is provided.
This research includes the using of statistical to improve the quality of can plastics which is produced at the state company for Vegetable oils (Almaamon factory ) by using the percentage defective control chart ( p-chart ) of a fixed sample. A sample of size (450) cans daily for (30) days was selected to determine the rejected product . Operations research with a (win QSB ) package for ( p-chart ) was used to determine test quality level required for product specification to justify that the process that is statistically controlled.
The results show high degree of accuracy by using the program and the mathematical operations (primary and secondary ) which used to draw the control limits charts and to reject the statistically uncontr
Leinamycin is a thiol dependent DNA alkylating agent which shows very potent activity against various cancer cell lines. This natural compound forms guanine adducts (N7) in DNA which are converted into a basic sites and simultaneously generates Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), to produce DNA strand breaks in human cancer cells. In present study, eight different strains isolated from Iraqi soils were taxonomically assigned as Streptomyces.atroolivaceous. Remarkably the strain named as THS-44 was distinguished in productivity in comparison with other strains; the amount of leinamycin was 50.98 mg/l. In this study, we assessed the cytotoxic activity of leinamycin against RD and ANM3 cancer cell line in compare with REF cell line as a normal cont

This study also includes in vitro effects of various combinations of three types of antimicrobials (meropenem, gentamicin and amikacin) against twenty five E. c

Objective:The goal of this study was to evaluated the anti-bacterial and anti-biofilm activities of AgNPs alone and in combination with aminoglycoside (Amikacin) and β-lactam (Ampicillin) antibiotics against multidrug resistant Gram-negative bacilli (Pseudomonas aeruginos

The Microphallidaeare family is spread throughout the world. It includes approximately 47 genera. Mature worms usually enter the digestive system of vertebrates, especially birds and mammals. Microphallidae contain eight subfamilies: Androcotylinae - Basantisiinae - Endocotylinae - Gynaecotylinae - Levinseniellinae - MaritrematinaeMicrophallinae - Sphairiotrematinae. Therefore, due to the lack of studies on the Microphallidae family in Iraq, we began to develop a database on this important family.
As a marker of systemic inflammation, raised (C-reactive protein (CRP)) concentrations which are still within the normal range have been associated with an increased inflammation of chronic renal diseases (CRD). The current study aimed to establish potential determinats of raised CRP concentrations in patients who treated in Heamodialysis room, then study the relationship between CRP& some biochemical parameters related CRD We used a CRP latex reagents Kit which is based on an immunological reaction between CRP antisera bounded to the biologically inert latex particles or with CRP in the test specimens of 19 patients with (CRD) mean age 48 years ,range = 30?65 & in 21 healthy subjects as control group their age range = 30 ?45 years. Increasing evidence suggests that Gram-positive bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus species, contribute to gallstone pathogenesis through enzymatic activity and biofilm formation. Objectives: To characterize Gram-positive bacteria within gallstones from Iraqi patients, evaluate their biofilm-forming capacity, and analyze the relationship between bacterial colonization, gallstone type, and cholesterol levels. Methods: A total of 100 gallstones were obtained from patients undergoing elective cholecystectomy between October 2024 and March 2025. Stones were
