Human relationships are shaped and affected by the place they live in. This article analyzes Lynn Nottage’s Sweat from the perspective of spatial theory, particularly using the theories of Yi-Fu Tuan and Doreen Massey, to explore the complex connection between place and human relationships. The article examines how Nottage presents the reciprocal effect between people and their setting. By examining the city, the factory, and the local community around it, the study shows how place serves as a dynamic force that shapes the characters’ identities and relationships rather than just serving as a background. While Massey’s concept of place as a product of social relations offers a framework to explore the tensions and solidarity that arise within a changing economic landscape, Tuan’s concept of sentimental attachments to place is used to understand the characters’ strong ties to their city and place of work. Strong friendships break down, solidarity turns to resentment, and the individuals’ relationships with one another change when economic instability comes in. Ultimately, this study argues that relationships are fractured, communal ties are changed, and individual identities are reshaped when a shared sense of place is lost because of deindustrialization and changes in the economy.
The research aimed to identify the level of job security, the level of sports institutional performance, and the relationship, contribution and impact of job security to sports institutional performance from the point of view of workers in the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports. The descriptive approach was adopted in the manner of correlational relationships on a sample of (400) individuals who were randomly selected by (33.333%) of the employees working in the institutions at the headquarters of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, amounting to a total of (2293) individuals for the sports season (2022-2023), and they are naturally distributed among (13) main institutions in the formations of the headquarters of this ministry, and after adopt

In this context, artificial intelligence plays a pivotal role in developing new technologies to improve crop sorting and increase agricultural yields. The present review discusses the main differences between manual and mechanical potato harvesting, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Manual harvesting is highlighted as a traditional method that allows for greater precision in handling the crop, but it requires more time and effort. In contrast, mechanical harvesting provides greater efficiency and speed in the process, but it may damage some

Summary: The study focused on the role of the educational counselor in schools, as an integral part of the educational system that faces multiple challenges and difficulties. In this context, the counselor’s role becomes crucial in attempting to reduce or eliminate such difficulties, in addition to guiding students in an appropriate manner. Methodes: The study employed a descriptive field approach, using interviews and direct observation as tools to examine the actual role performed by school counselors. Results: The study concluded with several key findings, most notably the numerous challenges faced by counselors, including students’ negative behaviors, school dropouts, and the limited administrative support for counselors’ work. In this study, a pot experiment was conducted where the Dodonaea plant (known as hops) was grown, and soil previously contaminated with metals (Zn, Ni, Cd) was added at concentrations 100, 50, 0 mg·kg-1 for Ni and Zn, and at concentrations of 0, 5, 10 mg·kg-1 for cadmium. Irrigation was done within the limits of the field capacity of the soil. Cadmium, nickel and zinc was estimated in the soil to find out the capacity of plants to the absorption of heavy and contaminated metals by using bioconcentration factors (BCFs), bioaccumulation coefficient (BAC) and translocation factor (TF). Additionally, BCF values of both Ni and Zn were l

This may push people to use low-quality water like industrial-wastewater. The application of some chemical compounds to get rid of heavy metals such as cadmium is an environmentally harmful approach. It is well-known that heavy metals as cadmium may induce harmful problems when present in water and invade to soil, plants and food chain of a human being. In this case, man will be forced to use the low quality water in irrigation. Application of natural materials instead of chemicals to remove cadmium from polluted water is an environmental friendly approach. Attention was drawn in this research wor

The second algorithm concentrates on the contrast at edge points and correlation method as the criteria parameter for the resulted image quality. This algorithm considers three blocks with different sizes at the homogenous region and moves it 10 pixels within the same homogenous region. These blocks examine the statistical properties of the block and decide automatically the next step. The resulted combined image is better in the contras
