Heterogeneous catalytic degradation of dye by Fenton-like oxidation over a continuous system based on Box–Behnken design and traditional batch experiments
...Show More Authors

In this study, iron was coupled with copper to form a bimetallic compound through a biosynthetic method, which was then used as a catalyst in the Fenton-like processes for removing direct Blue 15 dye (DB15) from aqueous solution. Characterization techniques were applied on the resultant nanoparticles such as SEM, BET, EDAX, FT-IR, XRD, and zeta potential. Specifically, the rounded and shaped as spherical nanoparticles were found for green synthesized iron/copper nanoparticles (G-Fe/Cu NPs) with the size ranging from 32-59 nm, and the surface area was 4.452 m2/g. The effect of different experimental factors was studied in both batch and continuous experiments. These factors were H2O2 concentration, G-Fe/CuNPs amount, pH, initial DB15 concentration, and temperature in the batch system. The batch results showed 98% of 100 mg/L of DB15 was degraded with optimum H2O2 concentration, G-Fe/Cu-NPs dose, pH, and temperature 3.52 mmol/L, 0.7 g/L, 3, and 50℃ respectively. For the continuous mode, the influences of initial DB15 concentration, feed flow rate, G-Fe/Cu-NPs depth were investigated using an optimized experimental Box-Behnken design, while the conditions of pH and H2O2 concentration were based on the best value found in the batch experiments. The model optimization was set the parameters at 2.134 ml/min flow rate, 26.16 mg/L initial dye concentration, and 1.42 cm catalyst depth. All the parameters of the breakthrough curve were also studied in this study including break time, saturation time, length of mass transfer zone, the volume of bed, and volume effluent.

Hydrogenation of pyridine and hydrogenolysis of piperidine over <i>γ-</i>Mo2N catalyst: a DFT study
...Show More Authors

Increasing demands on producing environmentally friendly products are becoming a driving force for designing highly active catalysts. Thus, surfaces that efficiently catalyse the nitrogen reduction reactions are greatly sought in moderating air-pollutant emissions. This contribution aims to computationally investigate the hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) networks of pyridine over the γ-Mo2N(111) surface using a density functional theory (DFT) approach. Various adsorption configurations have been considered for the molecularly adsorbed pyridine. Findings indicate that pyridine can be adsorbed via side-on and end-on modes in six geometries in which one adsorption site is revealed to have the lowest adsorption energy (

Real-Time SLAM Mobile Robot and Navigation Based on Cloud-Based Implementation
...Show More Authors

This study investigates the feasibility of a mobile robot navigating and discovering its location in unknown environments, followed by the creation of maps of these navigated environments for future use. First, a real mobile robot named TurtleBot3 Burger was used to achieve the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technique for a complex environment with 12 obstacles of different sizes based on the Rviz library, which is built on the robot operating system (ROS) booted in Linux. It is possible to control the robot and perform this process remotely by using an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance service. Then, the map to the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) cloud was uploaded. This provides a database

Effects of Different Concentrations of Melatonin on the Time-course of Nitrite–induced Oxidation of Hemoglobin: In vitro Study
...Show More Authors

Melatonin is a potent scavenger of reactive oxygen species or free radicals like superoxide and hydroxyl radicals. The oxidation of hemoglobin to methemoglobin (meth-Hb) by oxidizing compounds has been widely studied. The present work was designed to evaluate the ability of different concentrations of melatonin to inhibit nitrite–induced oxidation of hemoglobin. Blood samples were obtained from apparently healthy individuals from which erythrocyte hemolysate was prepared. Different concentrations of melatonin (10-9-1.0 mg/ml) were incubated for 10 min with the hemolysate, then to the resultant mixture 1 ml of sodium nitrite (final concentration 0.6 mM) was added, and the

Preparation of Nano Zinc Oxide and its Application in the Photocatalytic Degradation of Ampicillin
...Show More Authors

This study was undertaken to prepare Nano zinc oxide (ZnO) by precipitation and microemulsion methods. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), FTIR spectrometry, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and Brunauer Emmett Teller (BET) surface area were the techniques employed for the preparation. The particle size of prepared nano ZnO was 69.15nm and 88.49nm for precipitation and microemulsion methods, respectively, which corresponded to the BET surface area 20.028 and 16.369m2/g respectively. The activity of prepared nano ZnO as a photocatalyst was estimated by the removal of ampicillin (Amp) under visible light. This study, therefore, examined the effect of pH in the range of 5-11, initial concen

Design and Construction of Nanostructure TiO2 Thin Film Gas Sensor Prepared by R.F Magnetron Sputtering Technique
...Show More Authors

In this research, Mn-doped TiO2 thin films were grown on glass, Si and OIT/glass substrates by R.F magnetron sputtering technique with thicknesses (250 nm) using TiO2:Mn target under Ar gas pressure and power of 100 Watt. Through the results of X-ray diffraction, the prepared thin films are of the polycrystallization type after the process of annealing at 600°C for two hour The average crystalline size were 145.32, 280.97 and 261.23 nm for (TiO2:Mn) thin film on glass, Si and OIT/glass substrates respectively, while the measured surface roughness is between 0.981nm and 1.14 nm. The fabricated (TiO2:Mn) thin film on glass sensors have high sensitivity for hydrogen( H2 reducing gas) compared to the sensitivity for hydrogen gas on Si and OIT/

Multiwavelet and Estimation by Interpolation Analysis Based Hybrid Color Image Compression
...Show More Authors

Nowadays, still images are used everywhere in the digital world. The shortages of storage capacity and transmission bandwidth make efficient compression solutions essential. A revolutionary mathematics tool, wavelet transform, has already shown its power in image processing. The major topic of this paper, is improve the compresses of still images by Multiwavelet based on estimation the high Multiwavelet coefficients in high frequencies sub band  by interpolation instead of sending all Multiwavelet coefficients. When comparing the proposed approach with other compression methods Good result obtained

A Smishing Detection Method Based on SMS Contents Analysis and URL Inspection Using Google Engine and VirusTotal
...Show More Authors

Smishing is the delivery of phishing content to mobile users via a short message service (SMS). SMS allows cybercriminals to reach out to mobile end users in a new way, attempting to deliver phishing messages, mobile malware, and online scams that appear to be from a trusted brand. This paper proposes a new method for detecting smishing by combining two detection methods. The first method is uniform resource locators (URL) analysis, which employs a novel combination of the Google engine and VirusTotal. The second method involves examining SMS content to extract efficient features and classify messages as ham or smishing based on keywords contained within them using four well-known classifiers: support vector machine (SVM), random
