Pure and doped barium titanate with Mg2+ ion at two molar ratios x= (5%, 10%) mol. has been synthesized by solid state reaction technique. The powders sintered at two temperatures (1000 °C and 1400 °C). An XRD technique was used in order to study the crystal structure of pure and doped barium titanate, which confirmed the formation of the tetragonal phase of BaTiO3, and then calculate the lattice parameters of pure and doped barium titanate, the addition of magnesium ion Mg2+ can lead to decreases lattice parameters.

Background: no previous study is done in Iraq about the isolation and the identification of measles virus although the outbreaks were continuous in the previous
years.
Aim of the study: To identify our local strain of measles virus, which had caused measles o utbreak in the year 2004.
Patient and methods: About (55) Urine samples and (80) throat swabs were collected from 88 measles suspected patients all over the country during measles
outbreak of the year 2004. Serological (ELISA) and virological test were used for this purpose.

The monogenean Gyrodactylus taimeni Ergens, 1971 was recorded in this study for the first time in Iraq from gills of the common carp Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758. The description and measurements of this parasite as well as illustration were given.      In this paper, we experimentally studied the effects of optical power of semiconductor laser on the electrical properties of silicon diode of an exposed device. The experimental results showed that the laser diode light of different optical powers (2, 3, and 4 mW) had effects on the silicon diode that are somewhat similar to those of thermal treatment. A shift in the current-voltage curve to the left side was also noticed, which led to a non-linear decrease of the barrier voltage of the diode by the effect of laser light.
