Schiff base of chitosan with Para-Dimethyl aminobenzaldehyde /PVA-Ag Nanocomposite have been prepared as antimicrobial polymer. The prepared chitosan Schiff base and chitosan Schiff base / PVA-Ag nanocomposite were characterized by FT-IR, SEM analysis and biological activity. The nanocomposite showed good activity against different types of bacteria.
In this paper, we establish the conditions of the occurrence of the local bifurcations, such as saddle node, transcritical and pitchfork, of all equilibrium points of an eco-epidemiological model consisting of a prey-predator model with SI (susceptible-infected) epidemic diseases in prey population only and a refuge-stage structure in the predators. It is observed that there is a transcritical bifurcation near the axial and free predator equilibrium points, near disease-free equilibrium point is a saddle-node bifurcation and near positive (coexistence) equilibrium point is a saddle-node bifurcation, a transcritical bifurcation and a pitchfork bifurcation. Further investigations for Hopf bifurcation near coexistence equilibrium point
... Show MoreFencing sport coaches seek fencers who have high velocity and work hard to develop it through training. The research problem lies on when measuring movement abilities through some tests. Manual measurement does not give reasonable impartiality of timing because there is a time-frame between the movement of the fencer and the speed of the movement of the human time setter. Therefore, the authors sought to design an electronic vest to evaluate movement abilities in foil fencers. The study design was experimental, with 12 Iranian foil fencers of the national team, who were divided into two equal groups of 6 fencers. Moreover, there were 12 students from Physical Education and Sport Sciences that worked on the scientific f
... Show MoreIn the field of implantology, peri-implantitis is still a common complication of implant failure. Similar to periodontal disease, this kind of pathological condition is characterized by inflammation of the tissues surrounding dental implants or fillings. The sources of infection have been shown to be chronic periodontitis and poor maintenance of the communion. A thorough examination of the intricate components of peri-implantitis was sought in this review in order to identify common characteristics of the disease with regard to bacteria, biofilm formation, host immunological responses, diagnostic tools, and therapeutic treatments. The aim of this study was to provide a detailed overview of the different bacterial species associated
... Show MoreMyrtle plant was washed, dried, and powdered after harvesting to produce a fine powder used in water treatment. An alcoholic extract was created from the myrtle plant using ethanol, which was then analyzed using GC-Mass, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy to identify the active components. Zinc nanoparticles were created using alcoholic extract. FT-IR, UV-Vis, SEM, EDX, and TEM were used to characterize zinc nanoparticles. Using a continuous processing procedure, zinc nanoparticles with myrtle extract and powder were employed to clean polluted water containing pesticides and antibiotic. First, 2 g of zinc nanoparticles was mixed with 20 ml of polluted water and the result was (Tetra 44%, Levo 32%),
... Show MoreAt the temperature 298.15 K, some physical properties such as: refractive indices (nD), viscosities (η) and densities (ρ) were studied in four liquid-liquid mixtures: carboxylic acids (HCOOH, CH3COOH, CH3CH2COOH and CH3CH2CH2COOH) with tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol (THFA) with the identified configuration set. These empirical data were utilized to estimate the excess molar volumes (Vm E), refractive index perversions (ΔR), viscosity deviations (ηE) and excess molar Gibbs free energy (ΔG*E). Values of Vm E, ηE , ΔG*E and ΔR were plotted versus mole fraction of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol. In all cases, the values of Vm E, ηE , ΔG*E and ΔR that obtained in this study were found to be negative at 298.15 K. The excess parameters
... Show MoreMonitoring water quality in hemodialysis systems is extremely important to maintain adequate quality services for patients suffering from kidney failure. This work aims to examine and evaluate bacteriological characteristics and endotoxin contamination levels in hemodialysis water produced in dialysis centers. Forty‐eight water samples were collected and analyzed from four major hospitals in Baghdad for one year to evaluate seasonal effects. The analysis included the determination of total heterotrophic bacteria using the pour plate method, identification of bacterial isolate using the Vitek2 compact instrument, and the determination of endotoxins levels using Limulus ameboc
