In this study, the effect of construction joints on the performance of reinforced concrete beams was experimentally investigated. Seven beam specimens, with dimensions of 200×100×1000 mm, were fabricated. The variables were considered including; the location and configuration of the joints. One beam was cast without a joint (Reference specimen), two specimens were fabricated with a one horizontal joint located either at tension, or compression zone. The fourth

The present study was carried out to evaluate antibacterial activity of water , alcoholic extracts (cold and hot) and the crude alkaloid extract of leaves, seeds and roots of Zygophyllum fabago plant against the growth of some bacteria including gram negative bacteria(Escherichia coli ,Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and gram positive bacteria(Staphylococcus aureus  ,Bacillus subtilis).        Results showed variation in antibacterial activity of different extracts against the studied bacteria. This paper aims to study the biosorption for removal of lead, cadmium, copper and arsenic ions using algae as a biosorbent. A series of experiments were carried out to obtain the breakthrough data in a fluidized bed reactor. The minimum fluidization velocities of beds were found to be 2.27 and 3.64 mm/s for mish sizes of 0.4-0.6 and 0.6-1 mm diameters, respectively.
