Synthesis, Spectroscopic and Antimicrobial Studies of Mixed Ligand Metal (II) Complexes with three amino acids

The research includes synthesis and identification of novel three amino acids ligands complexes of some heavy metal (II) ions by using the amino acids like glycine, L-alanine and L-valine. New metal mixed ligand complexes with amino acids are prepared the reaction by reacting the three amino acids with the metals(II) chloride by using 50% ethanolic solution and 50% distall water in the molar ratio [1:1:1:1] ( M:Gly:Ala:Val) except for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes were found after diagnosis the coordination with both Lalanine and L-valine. The prepared complexes identified by using physical properties, flame atomic absorption and conductivity measurements, in addition, mass, FT.IR and UV.vis spectrum as well magnetic moment data. The general formula of the complexes is Na[M(Gly)(Ala)(Val)].H2O in which the Glycine (C2H5NO2) is symbolized as (Gly), the L-alanine (C3H7NO2) is symbolized (Ala), L-valine (C5H11NO2) is symbolized (Val) and M(II) represent Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II), except the Co(II) complex is in the formula [Co(Ala)(Val)(OH2)2]. and the Ni(II) complex is in the formula Na[Ni(Ala)(Val)Cl].H2O. Each of the glycine, L-alanine and L-valine behave as a bidentate ligand which is coordinated through the oxygen atom of the carboxyl group (-COO- ) and the nitrogen atom of the amino group (-NH2). The suggest geometry of the metal(II) complexes to be octahedral except the Ni(II) complex is square pyramid geometry. In the research the study of antibacterial and antifungal activity of the three amino acidsilgands and their complexes.

Optical and structural characteristics of pulsed DC magnetron sputtered Ce1- xTixOy coatings

This contribution investigates the impact of adding transition metal of Ti to CeOy samples at various concentrations referring to 0, 15.84, 24.46, 34.46, 36.23, 38.46, 45.38% and pure TiOy, correspondingly. The samples were fabricated by the magnetron sputtering technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) configurations demonstrate the presence of α-Ce2O3 and Ce2O3 phases with increased Ti contents in the systems. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) experimentation confirms the purity of the S1-sample (CeO2) and the purity of the S8-sample (TiO2). Electronic and optical properties of nickel-doped ceria: A computational modelling study

Cerium oxide CeO2, or ceria, has gained increasing interest owing to its excellent catalytic applications. Under the framework of density functional theory (DFT), this contribution demonstrates the effect that introducing the element nickel (Ni) into the ceria lattice has on its electronic, structural, and optical characteristics. Electronic density of states (DOSs) analysis shows that Ni integration leads to a shrinkage of Ce 4f states and improvement of Ni 3d states in the bottom of the conduction band. Furthermore, the calculated optical absorption spectra of an Ni-doped CeO2 system shifts towards longer visible light and infrared regions. The tunnel was designed and constructed at the Aerodynamics Lab. in the Mechanical Engineering Department/University of Baghdad. The test section design speed is 70 m/s. Comparative Study of New Re-Ni-Mo/Al2o3 and Conventional Hydrodesulphurization Catalyst

Experimental Study and Mathematical Modelling of Zinc Removal by Reverse Osmosis Membranes

In this study, aromatic polyamide reverse osmosis membranes were used to remove zinc ions from electroplating wastewater. Influence of different operating conditions such as time, zinc concentration and pressure on reverse osmosis process efficiency was studied.  The experimental results showed, concentration of zinc in permeate increase with increases of time from 0 to 70 min, and flux of water through membrane decline with time. While, the concentrations of zinc in permeate increase with the increase in feed zinc concentration (10–300 mg/l), flux decrease with the increment of feed concentration.
