In this study, two types of local plants were chosen, the first is the plant golden pothos Epipremnum aureum and the second is the Iraqi Sheikh's chin plant Tribulus terrestris L, for the purpose of making a comparison between them in terms of their possession of chemical groups with antioxidant activity in order to use them as a natural alternative to using antioxidants Industrial that cause negative effects on human health, the samples were prepared using the method of water and alcohol extraction (ethanol 70%) for both plants. It revealed the presence of a number of chemical groups (tannins, carbohydrates, phenols, flavonoids, alkaloids) for both plants, the aqueous and alcoholic extracts. Coumarins are only found in the sheikh's chin plant, while steroids are only found in the pothos plant. It was found that the alcoholic extract of the Sheikh's chin plant was best than aqueous extract in terms of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method, as the concentration of 20 mg / ml achieved an effectiveness of 91.2, which is close to control (BHT) 92.3, while the opposite was recorded in the pothos plant as the aqueous extract was better than the alcoholic extract. As the concentration of 20 mg / ml recorded an activity of 89.22, while the alcoholic extract had a significant difference of 65.9, with a significant difference on the level of probability P˂0.01, and for the purpose of demonstrating the efficiency of the process of capturing free radicals of plant extracts, the effective concentration was determined (EC50) and found that the best concentration was achieved to capture 50% of The DPPH complex had an aqueous extract of pothos at 0.5 mg / mL which is very close to the EC50 value for control (vitamin C) followed by the alcoholic extract at 7.75 mg / mL. The Folin-Ciocalteu method was used to find the total content of phenols, it was found that the aqueous extract of the pothos plant had the highest content of phenols as it recorded the highest concentration of 49.33 compared to the alcohol extract 38.05. In contrast to the result of the Sheikh' chin plant, the alcoholic extract recorded the most phenol content at a concentration of 65.11 compared to the aqueous extract which recorded a concentration of 42.15.
Coffee bean contains bioactive compounds including caffeine and chlorogenic acid (CGA) that have a stimulant effect and are used for combating fatigue and drowsiness, and enhancing alertness. However, when the coffee bean was processed in the form of green coffee bean (GCB) extract, it has an unpleasant flavour and limitations instability, activity, and bioavailability. This study aimed to produce microcapsules of the GCB (Coffea canephora) ethanolic extract containing considerable amounts of the bioactive compounds for nutraceutical supplements. The GCB ethanolic extract was microencapsulated by spray drying using a whey protein concentrate (WPC) biopolimer. The particle size (PSA), morphology (SEM), and physicochemical charact

Show MoreCollagen triple helix repeat containing-1 (CTHRC1) is an essential marker for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), but its relationship with pro-inflammatory, anti-inflammatory, and inflammatory markers has been scantily covered in extant literature. To evaluate the level of CTHRC1 protein in the sera of 100 RA patients and 25 control and compare levels of tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin 10 (IL-10), RA disease activity (DAS28), and inflammatory factors. Higher significant serum levels of CTHRC1 (29.367 ng/ml), TNF-α (63.488 pg/ml), and IL-10 (67.1 pg/ml) were found in patient sera as compared to that in control sera (CTHRC1 = 15.732 ng/ml, TNF-α = 33.788 pg/ml, and IL-10 = 25.122 pg/ml). There was no significant correlation be

Recent studies have found a link between uncontrolled diabetes and cardiovascular disease, with dyslipidaemia predicting glycated-hemoglobin (HbA1c), which could be a major contributor to type 2 diabetes complications and etiology.
Objectives: The objective of present study was estimate lipid profiles among control and uncontrolled type 2 diabetic patients.
Subjects and Methods: Analytical case control based study, One hundred twenty participate were included in study, 70 patients with DM as case group refer to Abuagala Center and difference follow up diabetic center and 50 non diabetic subjects taken as

All slabs had the same dimensions, steel reinforcement, and concrete compressive strength. One of these slabs was a solid slab, which was taken as a control slab, while the other six slabs were cast with PEABs. The main variables were the ratio of the length of the PEABs to the length of the slab (lp/L) and the ratio of the height of the PEABs to the total slab depth (hP/H). The minimum decrease in the ultimate load capacity was about 6% with a minimum reduction in the slab weight of 15%. In contrast, the maximum decrease in the

Therefore, the development of improved DPP-4 inhibiters is consideredan essential strategy in the design of antidiabetic drugs. In the present study, a structure-based virtual approach was considered to design and evaluate new sitagliptin analogues with improved binding stability and pharmacokinetic properties. A virtual library consisting of 15,034 different compounds was created and then screened using a hierarchical Glide docking protocol (HTVS, SP, and XP). Using integrated computational analyses, the top ranked compounds were further assessed. Based on ADMET predictions, MM-GBSA binding free energy

The method is established in three types of Lagrange polynomials (LP’s), Original Lagrange polynomial (OLP), Barycentric Lagrange polynomial (BLP), and Modified Lagrange polynomial (MLP). General Algorithm is suggested and examples are included to get the best effectiveness, and implementation of these types. Also, as special case fractional differential equation is taken to evaluate the validity of the proposed method. Finally, a comparison between the proposed method and other methods are taken to present the effectiveness of the proposal meth

Over 100 million patients heal with a scar every year. To investigate the role of the beta 2 adrenergic receptor (β2AR); Ritodrine, in wound scarring, the ability of beta 2 adrenergic receptor agonist (β2ARag) to alter HDF differentiation and function, wound inflammation, angiogenesis, and wound scarring was explored in HDFs, zebrafish, chick chorioallantoic membrane assay (CAM), and a porcine skin wound model, respectively.
