Based on collections made during March to September 2012. A totals of 58 species belong to 33 genera were identified from extra north to extra south of Erbil governorate, among them 30 species are registered as a new record to flora of Iraq. Most attention was paid to the most common and abundant lichens that present almost in most locations, which were Collema cristatum, Diploschistes scruposus, Lecanora dispersa, Lecanora murales, Pertusaria flavicunda, Placidium lacinulatum, Thelomma californicum and Verrucaria Maura.

The present study examines the extraction of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd) and nickel (Ni) from   a contaminated soil by washing process. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt (Na₂EDTA) and hydrochloric acid (HCl) solution were used as extractants.  Soil washing is one of the most suitable in-situ/ ex-situ remediation method in removing heavy metals. Soil was artificially contaminated with 500 mg/kg (Pb , Cd and Ni ).  A set of batch experiments were carried out at different conditions of  extractant concentration , contact time, pH and agitation speed. In this paper, a mathematical model consisting of harmful phytoplankton and two competing zooplankton is proposed and studied. The existence of all possible equilibrium points is carried out. The dynamical behaviors of the model system around biologically feasible equilibrium points are studied. Suitable Lyapunov functions are used to construct the basins of attractions of those points. Conditions for which the proposed model persists are established. The occurrence of local bifurcation and a Hopf bifurcation are investigated. Finally, to confirm our obtained analytical results and specify the vital parameters, numerical simulations are used for a hypothetical set of parameter values.

The  study  concentrated  on  measuring  the  lipid  peroxidation marker malon di aldehyde (MDA) in sera of thirty five patients with minor Thalassemia  (Tm), thirty five with major Thalassemia (TM) and thirty five healthy control, their age ranged from (17-30) years.
