Denotative and Connotative Meaning of Barnyard Verbs
...Show More Authors

Communication is a vital process that needs much more understanding and mutual background knowledge on the part of ESL learners in terms of grammar, meaning and context. Thus, the main aim of the current research paper is to identify and figure out the denotative and connotative meaning of barnyard verbs in English and practically analyzing these verbs to identify the dictionary meaning from connotative one. The main problem of this study is attributed to the fact that ESL learners may not be able to identify and understand the connotative meaning of barnyard verbs since these verbs are onomatopoeic (i.e,) a word that phonetically imitates, or suggests the source of sound that it describes). Consider the following example: the verb "coo" has a denotative sense in that it refers to the sound of dove or pigeon, but when children "coo", that means they speak gently which is a connotative meaning. Accordingly, the ESL learners may not know the connotative meaning of such verbs because these verbs have different associations and suggestions. The paper falls into four sections. Section one is an introduction which sheds light on the definition and meaning of barnyard verbs. Section two deals with communication. Section three discusses the notion of meaning. Section four is devoted to analyzing the denotative and connotative meaning of barnyard verbs in English. The most important conclusions that the paper has come to can be summarized as follows: firstly, denotative meaning of barnyard verbs has something to do with the use of words whose meaning suggests the onomatopoeic sense, whereas connotative meaning , has something to do with the meaning that is implied by a word a part from the thing which it describes explicitly, secondly, denotatively speaking, barnyard verbs are phonetically described, whereas connotatively speaking , they are semantically described. Consequently, it is somehow easy to figure out denotative meaning of barnyard verbs, but it is hard to identify and understand connotative meaning of these verbs due to the fact that they have different meanings with different contexts.

Abstract
<title>Background

A plant mixture containing indigenous Australian plants was examined for synergistic antimicrobial activity using selected test microorganisms. This study aims to investigate antibacterial activities, antioxidant potential and the content of phenolic compounds in aqueous, ethanolic and peptide extracts of plant mixture.

Methods

Well diffusion, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) assays were used to test antibacterial activity against four pathogenic bacteria namelyStaphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacil

This paper presents the synthesis and study of some new mixed-ligand complexes containing nicotinamide(C6H7N2O) symbolized (NA) and phenylalanine (C9H11NO2)symbolized (pheH)] with some metal ions. The resulting products were found to be solid crystalline complexes which have been characterized by :Melting points, Solubility, Molar conductivity. determination the percentage of the metal in the complexes by flame(AAS), magnetic susceptipibility, Spectroscopic Method [FT-IR and UV-Vis]. Preparing and Studying Structural and Optical Properties of Pb1-xCdxS Nanoparticles of Solar Cells Applications
...Show More Authors

Nanoparticles of Pb1-xCdxS within the composition of 0≤x≤1 were prepared from the reaction of aqueous solution of cadmium acetate, lead acetate, thiourea, and NaOH by chemical co-precipitation. The prepared samples were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy(in the range 300-1100nm) to study the optical properties, AFM and SEM to check the surface morphology(Roughness average and shape) and the particle size. XRD technique was used to determine the crystalline structure, XRD technique was used to determine the purity of the phase and the crystalline structure, The crystalline size average of the nanoparticles have been found to be 20.7, 15.48, 11.9, 11.8, and 13.65 nm for PbS, Pb0.75Cd0.25S,

Molecular detection of Streptococcus Sp. isolated from the mouth and nose of humans and pets

Several streptococcal species traverse the human-animal-environment interface, positioning them as particularly compelling subjects for One Health research. In contrast to strictly host-adapted pathogens, these species are observed to circulate among livestock, companion animals, aquaculture, and the broader environment, exhibiting demonstrable transmission to human populations. In this study, 200 swabs were collected from humans and animals (100 nasal and oral swabs were tested bacteriologically from individuals with respiratory infections and gastrointestinal illnesses of all genders and ages. 100 swabs were collected from pets (dogs and cats) of both genders and various ages. Various respiratory symptoms were tested to isolate and charac

Preparation and studying of some properties of polymer composites reinforced with natural and artificial fibers
...Show More Authors

This work concerns the thermal and sound insulation as well as the mechanical properties of polymer matrix composite reinforced with glass fibers. These fibers may have dangerous effect during handling, for example the glass fibers might cause some damage to the eyes, lungs and even skin. For this reason the present work, investigates the behavior of polymer composite reinforced with natural fibers (Plant fibers) as replacement to glass fibers. Unsaturated Polyester resin was used as matrix material reinforced with two types of fibers, one of them is artificial (Glass fibers) and the other type is natural (Jute, Fronds Palm and Reed Fibers) by hand lay-up technique. All fibers are untreated with any chemical solvent. The Percentage of mi

The Formulation and Characterization of Nimodipine Nanoparticles for the Enhancement of solubility and dissolution rate
...Show More Authors

Nimodipine (NMD) is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker useful for the prevention and treatment of delayed ischemic effects. It belongs to class ? drugs, which is characterized by low solubility and high permeability. This research aimed to prepare Nimodipine nanoparticles (NMD NPs) for the enhancement of solubility and dissolution rate. The formulation of nanoparticles was done by the solvent anti-solvent technique using either magnetic stirrer or bath sonicator for maintaining the motion of the antisolvent phase. Five different stabilizers were used to prepare NMD NPs( TPGS, Soluplus®, HPMC E5, PVP K90, and poloxamer 407). The selected formula F2, in which  Soluplus

has been utilized as a stabilizer, has a par

Iraq has suffered since 1991 from international sanctions imposed on it by the dictatorial regime that existed at the time, invading Kuwait, which led to the decline of the status of Iraq and the isolation of international and regional (Arab) and clear Iraq as a strange entity living within its regional environment, after April 2003 did not change much In fact, there were no signs of détente before the Arab League summit in Baghdad in 2011, and the signs of a break in the stalemate in inter-relations over the past years have become evident. Disruption and refraction was not high (Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkey, Syrian Arab Republic, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait).
