Effect of Variation of Degree of Saturation with depth on Soil–Concrete Pile Interface in Clayey Soil
...Show More Authors

Bearing capacity of a concrete pile in fine grained cohesive soils is affected by the degree of saturation of the surrounding soil through the contribution of the matric suction. In addition, the embedded depth and the roughness of the concrete pile surface (expressed as British Pendulum Number BPN) also have their contribution to the shear strength of the concrete pile, consequently its bearing capacity. Herein, relationships among degree of saturation, pile depth, and surface roughness, were proposed as a mathematical model expressed as an equation where the shear strength of a pile can be predicted in terms of degree of saturation, depth, and BPN. ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICTION OF FUNGI INFECTING ALOE VERA PLANT
...Show More Authors

This study included isolation and identification of the fungi associated with Aloe vera (L.) in nurseries and plant gardens. The results showed that the fungi Alternaria alternata, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium solani, Nigrospora oryzae, Cladosporium herbarum, Stemphylium botryosum, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium sp. were isolated from the diseased leaves of Aloe vera showing spots and blight symptoms. The percentages of disease incidence in March, Jun and August were found to be 5, 50 and 60 %, respectively. Pathogenicity test of Alternaria alternata, Fusarium oxysporum, Nigrospora oryzae and Cladosporium herbarum showed that disease index were 50, 25,25and 12.5 %,

Water And Alcohol Extraction Of Thyme Plant (Thymus Vulgaris) And Activity Study Against Bacteria, Tumors And Used As Anti-Oxidant In Margarine Manufacture
...Show More Authors

Isolation had been done for active substances from Thyme plant (Thymus Vulgaris) such as volatile oils, Saponins and Tannins. The percentage in form was (21.1%),(59.2%),( 9.7%) respectively. Also a study of anti-bacterial activity of extracts from Thyme using two types of pathogenic bacteria Escherichia Coli and aurous Staphylococcus showed the ability of inhibition for all different extracts by vary inhibition diameters for different active substances, concentrations and bacteria. One type of cancer cellular line used to study the effect of Thyme extracts on the growth of cells in the laboratory and thus know the specifications of extracts as anti-tumor, (L20B) cell line have been used which is mice Transformed cell Line. Radon and Exhalation Rate Measurement of Soil Samples in Al-Amiriya Area in Baghdad Governorate Using a Nuclear Track Detector
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Radon is the most dangerous natural radioactive component affecting the human population, since it is a radioactive gas that results from the decomposition process of uranium deposits in soil, rocks, and water, and it is damaging both humans and the ecosystem. The radon concentrations and exhalation rate in soil samples from various locations were determined using a passive approach with a CR-39 (CR-39 is Columbia Resin #39; it is allyl diglycol carbonate C12H18O7) detector in Amiriya region in Baghdad Governorate. The average values of radon concentrations are ranged from 47.3 to 54.2 Bq·m−3. From the obtained results, we can conclude that the values of all studied locations are
... Show More

The present study was invistigated to show the bioaccumulation of some heavy metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn) by use Aquatic plant Myriophyllum verticilatum growing in Euphrates river between Spring 2004 to Winter 2005, and these heavy maters was studied in Dissolved and particulat phase of water and exchangable and residual phase of sediment. Heavy metals accumulated according the system water-sediment-aquatic plant, and recorded bioaccumulation factor 1.010, 0.005, 0.009, 0.011, 0.012, 0.010, 0.010, 0.010, 0.011, respectively.

STRATEGIC DECISION MAKING APPROACHES AND ITS INFLUENCE AT EFFICIENCY OF SERIVICE MARKETING: AN APPLIED STUDY IN GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF TRAFFIC.: STRATEGIC DECISION MAKING APPROACHES AND ITS INFLUENCE AT EFFICIENCY OF SERIVICE MARKETING: AN APPLIED STUDY IN GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF TRAFFIC.
...Show More Authors

Strategic decision making is considered one of the important processes for senior management in contemporary business organizations and service organizations due to the properties of the service such as intangibility, concomitance and mortality. Decision-making has three approaches according to the opinions of most of the writers and researchers in the administrative area: an analytical approach, intuitive approach and behavioral approach. This research is trying to discover the nature of the relationship in terms of the link between the impact of each of these approaches and efficiency of marketing services by selecting an intentional sample of 58 researches from the Directorate General of Traffic, one of the Iraqi Interior Ministry ins
