This study was carried out on two species of the Hygromiidae family Monacha
cantiana and Candidula gigaxii collected from six sites in three central Iraq
provinces (Baghdad , Babylon and Karbala) . A total of 1318 individuals of Monacha
cantiana and 173 of Candidula gigaxii have been examined during the study period
from October 2013 to July 2014.The study included estimation of species relative
abundance, population density and relationship with some physico- chemical
properties of the soil; temperature, moisture and pH.
The Monacha cantiana was present at all sites but with varying numbers, while
Candidula gigaxii was confined to only three sites: Aljadiriyah and Zafaraniya at

This research aims to create lightweight concrete mixtures containing waste from local sources, such as expanded polystyrene (EPS) beads and waste plastic fibers (WPFs), all are cheap or free in the Republic of Iraq and without charge. The modern, rigid, and mechanical properties of LWC were investigated, and the results were evaluated. In this study, the effect of Nd: YAG laser on the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and alcoholdehydrogenase (ADH) was investigated. The Saccharomyces cells were irradiated using 532nm Q-Switched Nd: YAG laser with (1Hz) frequency. Different fluences 11.3, 22.6 and 33.9mJ/cm2 and different number of pulses 15, 30 and 60 pulse were used. The irradiated cells were incubated in a liquid nutritive medium for 24 hours. After incubation, the cells were harvested and disrupted to extract the intracellular enzymes and their activities were assessed. In comparison with the control, the irradiated cells showed a significant increase in the activity and the specific activity of SOD at energy densities of 11.3 and 22.6mJ/cm2 at 30 and 60 pulses

This research involves the study of permeability declination as a result of kaolinite due to the changing in pH in the Zubair reservoir (Lower Cretaceous) during the secondary production by water injection method.
