Evaluation of SOD and MDA levels with the Cytotoxicity of some Plant Extracts Toward Human Rhabdomyosarcoma Cell Lines

حظيت السمية الخلوية للمستخلصات النباتية باهتمام كبير في السنوات الأخيرة لتقييم نشاطها ضد الأورام. تركز الوقاية الكيميائية من السرطان على السمية الخلوية للمستخلصات النباتية لتكون سامة تجاه خطوط الخلايا السرطانية دون أن تؤثر على الخلايا الطبيعية. الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم السمية الخلوية لمستخلصي الزنجبيل و أوراق الزيتون ومزيجهما بنسبة 1: 1 تجاه خطوط خلايا RD وتقدير فعالية هذه المسخلصات ضد الاجهاد التاكسدي  بدلالة SOD و MDA. تم الحصول على المستخلصات الكحولية لكل من الزنجبيل وأوراق الزيتون بطريقة السوكسيلت. وحضر المستخلص الثالث بخلط كميات متساوية من مستخلص أوراق الزيتون والزنجبيل بنسبة 1: 1. تم تحضير اطباق من خطوط الخلايا RD وخطوط الخلايا الاعتيادية وتم اختبار تراكيز مختلفة من المستخلصات المحضرة (12.5 - 800 ميكروغرام / مل) لتسجيل فعالياتهم تجاه كل من RD وخطوط الخلايا الطبيعية. . كذلك ، تم تقدير  مستوى انزيم  SOD و MDA اعتمادًا على طرائق العمل الخاصة بهما. اظهرت النتائج  وجود فرق معنوي بين السمية الخلوية للتراكيز المدروسة لكل مستخلص تجاه خطوط الخلايا RD، اذ انخفضت قابلية بقاء خطوط الخلايا RD مع زيادة تراكيز المستخلصات ، وفي نفس الوقت لم تؤثر تلك  المستخلصات على خطوط الخلايا الطبيعية. كذلك بينت النتائج ازدياد مستويات SOD مع زيادة تركيز المستخلص على عكس مستويات MDA التي انخفضت مع زيادة تراكيز المستخلص. يمكن الاستنتاج بان نشاط المستخلصات المحضرة تجاه خطوط الخلايا RD دون التأثير على خطوط الخلايا الطبيعية يعزز مبادئ المنع الكيميائي للسرطان ، إلى جانب الخصائص المضادة للأكسدة التي يمكن أن تقلل من الإجهاد التأكسدي الذي يصاحب الخلايا السرطانية  وتنشيط العوامل الطبيعية المضادة للاكسدة في جسم الانسان.

Evaluation of angiopoietin-2 level in patients with multiple myeloma at presentation and in remission state

The study aimed to assess the level of ANG‑2 in MM patients at diagnosis and in remission state and elaborate on its correlation with interleukin‑6 (IL‑6) and beta‑2 microglobulin (B2M) levels. Study of opacity broadening in spectral lines for helium like ions in aluminum plasma which produced by laser

A theoretical analysis studied was performed to study the opacity broadening of spectral lines emitted from aluminum plasma produced by Nd-YLF laser. The plasma density was in the range 1028-1026 )) m-3 with length of plasma about ?300) m) , the opacity was studied as function of plasma density & principle quantum number. The results show that the opacity broadening increases as plasma density increases & decreases with the spacing between energy levels of emission spectral line.

Extraction and Determination of Amygdaline in Iraqi Plant Seeds Using the Combined Simple Extraction Procedure and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography

Preparation and Characterization of (Hyacinth plant / Chitosan) Composite as a Heavy Metal Removal

Water hyacinth plant (Eichhorniacrasspes) was collected from Tigris river in Baghdad. The root and shoot parts of plant were ground to powder. Composite materials were prepared at different ratios of plant part (from 2.9% to 30.3%, wt /wt) which corresponds to (30-500mg) of hyacinth plant (root and shoot) and chitosan.
