Discrete an SIS model with immigrants and treatment
...Show More Authors

In this paper, a discrete SIS epidemic model with immigrant and treatment effects is proposed. Stability analysis of the endemic equilibria and disease-free is presented. Numerical simulations are conformed the theoretical results, and it is illustrated how the immigrants, as well as treatment effects, change current model behavior

A new Cumulative Damage Model for Fatigue Life Prediction under Shot Peening Treatment
...Show More Authors

 Abstract

In this paper, fatigue damage accumulation were studied using many methods i.e.Corton-Dalon (CD),Corton-Dalon-Marsh(CDM), new non-linear model and experimental method. The prediction of fatigue lifetimes based on the two classical methods, Corton-Dalon (CD)andCorton-Dalon-Marsh (CDM), are uneconomic and non-conservative respectively. However satisfactory predictions were obtained by applying the proposed non-linear model (present model) for medium carbon steel compared with experimental work. Many shortcomings of the two classical methods are related to their inability to take into account the surface treatment effect as shot peening. It is clear that the new model shows that a much better and cons

Modelling and stability analysis of the competitional ecological model with harvesting
...Show More Authors

The interplay of predation, competition between species and harvesting is one of the most critical aspects of the environment. This paper involves exploring the dynamics of four species' interactions. The system includes two competitive prey and two predators; the first prey is preyed on by the first predator, with the former representing an additional food source for the latter. While the second prey is not exposed to predation but rather is exposed to the harvest. The existence of possible equilibria is found. Conditions of local and global stability for the equilibria are derived. To corroborate our findings, we constructed time series to illustrate the existence and the stability of equilibria numerically by varying the different values

The Arithmetic Coding and Hybrid Discrete Wavelet and Cosine Transform Approaches in Image Compression
...Show More Authors

Image compression is one of the data compression types applied to digital images in order to reduce their high cost for storage and/or transmission. Image compression algorithms may take the benefit of visual sensitivity and statistical properties of image data to deliver superior results in comparison with generic data compression schemes, which are used for other digital data. In the first approach, the input image is divided into blocks, each of which is 16 x 16, 32 x 32, or 64 x 64 pixels. The blocks are converted first into a string; then, encoded by using a lossless and dictionary-based algorithm known as arithmetic coding. The more occurrence of the pixels values is codded in few bits compare with pixel values of less occurre

Honeyword Generation Using a Proposed Discrete Salp Swarm Algorithm
...Show More Authors

Honeywords are fake passwords that serve as an accompaniment to the real password, which is called a “sugarword.” The honeyword system is an effective password cracking detection system designed to easily detect password cracking in order to improve the security of hashed passwords. For every user, the password file of the honeyword system will have one real hashed password accompanied by numerous fake hashed passwords. If an intruder steals the password file from the system and successfully cracks the passwords while attempting to log in to users’ accounts, the honeyword system will detect this attempt through the honeychecker. A honeychecker is an auxiliary server that distinguishes the real password from the fake passwords and t

Characteristic of Discrete Raman Amplifier at Different Pump Configurations
...Show More Authors

Discrete Raman amplifier have many attractive aspects over rare-earth doped fiber amplifier such as (EDFA) including arbitrary gain band, better adjustability of gain shape, and better linearity. This paper shows that discrete Raman amplifier has higher gain in bidirectional pumping than counter pumping. The gain increases with increasing fiber length, and the noise figure remain at the same value for short fiber length.

Achieving an Iraqi model in contemporary fashion design
...Show More Authors

The Iraqi outfit is characterized by special features and identity that are closely related to the traditions, customs, religious and social beliefs and other references of the Iraqi environment and its factors affecting the individual and society. Every place in Iraq has its own uniform, which differs in terms of its artistic, aesthetic and functional components from place to place.

The abaya, especially worn by women, is especially distinct in terms of the design of the uniform, the nature of the cloth made of it, as well as the color of the abaya, which is dominated by black in most designs. The Dar Al-Taros Center and Textile Research initiated the construction of theoretical and practical bases in the design of contemporary

Dynamical Behavior of an eco-epidemiological Model involving Disease in predator and stage structure in prey
...Show More Authors

An eco-epidemic model is proposed in this paper. It is assumed that there is a stage structure in prey and disease in predator. Existence, uniqueness and bounded-ness of the solution for the system are studied. The existence of each possible steady state points is discussed. The local condition for stability near each steady state point is investigated. Finally, global dynamics of the proposed model is studied numerically.

Sealing Depth of Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064nm Laser in the Treatment of Patients with Hypersensitive Teeth: An In Vitro Study
...Show More Authors

The purpose of this work was to study the effects of the Nd:YAG laser on exposed dentinal
tubules of human extracted teeth using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Eighty 2.5mm-thick
slices were cut at the cementoenamel junction from 20 extracted human teeth with an electric saw. A
diamond bur was used to remove the cementum layer to expose the dentinal tubules. Each slice was
sectioned into four equal quadrants and the specimens were randomly divided into four groups (A to D ).
Groups B to D were lased for 2 mins using an Nd:YAG laser at 6 pulses per second at energy outputs of
80 , 100 and 120 mJ. Group A served as control. Under SEM observation, nonlased specimens showed
numerous exposed dentinal tubules. SEM o
