This study aimed to find out the impact of work-life balance on employee satisfaction in five-star hotels in Amman, Jordan based on a descriptive analytical approach. The questionnaire of the survey was designed and distributed to a sample of participants in order to collect the necessary data for this study and they were analyzed later through the SPSS V22 program. The study population was the hotel sector in Jordan, while the study sample included the five-star hotels in the capital, Amman, and the sampling unit included the employees of the middle and lower levels of management in the five-star hotels in Amman. The study showed a number of results, including the existence of a good level of work-life balance by employees in top manage-ment in the five-star hotels in Amman, as well as the high level of employee satisfaction within the sector. The study recommended the importance of the need to identify the concept of work-life balance and understand the relationship to achieve better satisfaction for the employees. The study also recommended future studies to determine the effect of work-life balance on the employee satisfaction in different sectors in Jordan.
There is various human biometrics used nowadays, one of the most important of these biometrics is the face. Many techniques have been suggested for face recognition, but they still face a variety of challenges for recognizing faces in images captured in the uncontrolled environment, and for real-life applications. Some of these challenges are pose variation, occlusion, facial expression, illumination, bad lighting, and image quality. New techniques are updating continuously. In this paper, the singular value decomposition is used to extract the features matrix for face recognition and classification. The input color image is converted into a grayscale image and then transformed into a local ternary pattern before splitting the image into

Show MoreThis study investigates the feasibility of a mobile robot navigating and discovering its location in unknown environments, followed by the creation of maps of these navigated environments for future use. First, a real mobile robot named TurtleBot3 Burger was used to achieve the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technique for a complex environment with 12 obstacles of different sizes based on the Rviz library, which is built on the robot operating system (ROS) booted in Linux. It is possible to control the robot and perform this process remotely by using an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance service. Then, the map to the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) cloud was uploaded. This provides a database

Two commonly available nanomaterials, i.e., nanosilica (NS) and nanoalumina (NA), were used at contents of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% by weight of asphalt binder. A set of experiments was carried out at the binder level to investigate properties such as penetration, softening point, aging-related mass loss, nanomaterial dispersion (storage stability), and workability (rotational viscosity). In addition, the suitability of NS and NS was also assessed through the testing of nanomodified asphalt mixtures, which focused on Marshall properties, the resilient modulus, moisture susceptibility, permanent deformation, and fatigue resistance. The findings in

Methodology: Electronic databases for scientific research, including PubMed, Cochrane, and Medline, were searched. The following keywords were used: dental ceramic, cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr) alloy, shear bond strengths, Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technique, sandblasting technique, three-point bending test, hardness test, mode of failure, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and roughness test. Initial retrieval of 86 original papers from the worldwide databases was done after careful screening, including reviews of the literature on the different techniques used to enhance the shear b
... Show MoreThis study proposes a new method for designing adaptive routing algorithms for three‐dimensional (3D) networks‐on‐chip (NoCs). This method is based on extending the existing 2D turn model adaptive routing to a 3D scenario. A 3D plane‐balanced approach with maximal degree of adaptiveness is achieved by applying a well‐defined set of rules for different strata of the 3D NoC. The proposed method is applicable to any of the turn models. In this study, the authors employ odd–even turn model as a basis for introducing the proposed strategy. Experimental results show that the new 3D odd–even turn model can achieve up to 28.5% improvement in performance over conventional 3D odd–even approach. The improvement is consistent fo

Show MoreThe research aimed at identifying the effect of the think, pair, and share strategy by using educational movies on learning jumping opened legs and closed legs skills on vault in artistic gymnastics for women. It also aimed at identifying the group that learned better the skills understudy. The researcher used the experimental method on second-grade College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences female students. Twelve female students were selected from each of the two sections to form the subjects of the study. The main program was applied for eight weeks with one learning session per week. The data was collected and treated using SPSS to conclude that the think, pair, and share strategy and the traditional program have positive effects

They were then used to explore how photothermal treatment may be used to treat lung cancer (A549) and normal cells (REF) in vitro. The anti-proliferative activity of these nanoparticles was studied after A549 cells were treated with (AgNPs) at various concentrations (100%, 50%, or 25%) and exposure times (6 or 8 min) of laser after 1 h or 24 h from exposed AgNPs. The highest growth inhibition for cancer cells is (75%) at (AgNPs) concentration (100%) and the period of exposure to the laser is (8 min). Particle size for the prepared samples varied according to the diameter o
