Synthesis, Spectroscopic and Dyeing Performance Studies of Some New Heterocyclic Azo Dyes and Their Complexes with Selected Metal Ions
...Show More Authors

Coupling reaction of m-and p- amino acetophenone and p-amino benzoic acid with (L- Histidine) gave the new bidentate azo ligands (L1, L2 and L3). The prepared ligands were identified by FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1HNMR and GC- mass spectroscopic technique. Treatment of the prepared ligands with the following metal ions (CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII and HgII) in aqueous ethanol with a 1:2 M:L ratio and at optimum pH, yielded a series of neutral complexes of the general formula [M(L)2 Cl2]. The prepared complexes were characterized by using flame atomic absorption, FT-IR, UV-Vis and 1HNMR spectroscopic methods as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. Chloride ion content was also evaluated by (Mohr method). The nature of the c

Magnesium aluminum silicate of glass ceramic having different amounts of magnesium fluoride in the range (0-13.2)%. Thermal expansion coefficient and micro hardness of the base glass and glass ceramic samples are seen to be interdependent but due to the multi – component system, the behaviour is seen to be somewhat complex, with an increase in Mg F2 content. The thermal expansion coefficient increase and micro harness decrease, numerical simulation of thermal expansion and hardness is useful in this study, L2 – regression is used to calculate the two parameters associated with each glass component, by comparing the measured parameters and the calculated parameters ,it is useful to use such a method to calculate the quantity

Theoretical Study on the Effect of Ambient Temperature on Absorption Coefficient
...Show More Authors

Anew mathematical formula was proposed to describe the behavior of the extinction coefficient as a function of ambient temperature and wavelengths for some of infrared materials. This formula was derived depending on some experimental data of transmittance spectrum versus wavelengths for many ambient temperatures. The extensive study of the spectrum characteristics and depending on Bose-Einstein distribution led to derive an equation connecting the extinction coefficient or the absorption coefficient with the ambient temperature and wavelengths of the incident rays. The basic assumption in deriving process is the decreasing in transmittance value with the increasing temperature which is only due to the changing in extinction coeffi

Effect of Smoking on Serum Level of Some Mineral

Cigarette smoke contains a lot of toxic and oxidizing materials which causes body toxicity and reduces antioxidant that results in many diseases. In this study, levels of Zinc and Copper (which are antioxidant) were measured in serum of smokers and nonsmokers. It was found that the level of Zinc in serum of smokers was significantly lower than nonsmokers because nitric oxide which is one of cigarette contents acts to increase zinc loss, also a significantly lower copper levels were found in smokers than nonsmokers due to consumption of copper in reducing cadmium toxicity which is a cigarette smoke content

Although considered a good alternative to organophosphate pesticides, there are reports indicating adverse effects of neonicotinoid insecticides on reproduction. The present work was designed to determine the chronic effects of orally administered for treated with 20 mg/kg/b.w. of imidacloprid pesticides and treated with 20 mg/kg/b.w. of nano-imidacloprid on biochemical blood profile in male rats for a duration of 60 d. Result: the exposure caused a significant decline in red blood cells (RBCs) and hemoglobin (H.b.) in all treated groups compared with the control, while causing an increase in blood platelets (PLT) and white blood cells (WBCs) in all rats treated as compared with the control rats. Effect of the Medical City Waste on the Non-Diatom Planktonic Algae in the Tigris River in Central Baghdad
...Show More Authors

We conducted a study on the quality of non-diatom planktonic algae in the Tigris River during the autumn 2022 and winter 2023 seasons. The study focused on the impact of the medical city waste discharge to the Tigris River at three sites: Al-Sarafiya Bridge in the north, Medical City, and the Bab Al-Mu'adam Bridge in the south of Khader Elias. The study also examined some physical and chemical variables of the river water. Findings showed that there are 74 species (38 genera) of non-diatom algae in four orders. The blue-green algae Cyanophyceae and Chlorophyceae had the most species, with 35 species belonging to 19 genera and 16 genera per division, or 47% of all algae. Euglenophyceae had 5%, with 3 species and 2 genera, and Chrysophycea

Due to superficial particles and remarkable packing technologies, the HALO-HILIC column outperformed regular porous columns in terms of analysis time. This study analyzes and identifies kaempferol and luteolin flavonoids in natural herbs. A fast, novel chromatographic method combining superficially porous silica particles packed in a column served as the separation tool for hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography coupled with a UV detection system is being introduced in this work. Flavonoid separation and quantification took six minutes using only superficial porous particles in the HILIC column compared to hours using fully porous particles in the RP columns. The findings demonstrated that the HILIC mode

This study investigates new concepts in grill topological spaces by employing specified sets in which the α-open sets are defined. Many scholars, such as Choquet, who is considered the first to lay the foundation stone for the concept of a grill and formulate its definition, were interested in studying it. After that, many attempts have been made to study the properties associated with this concept and to understand the relationships among these properties. There are several types of grill topological spaces, including discrete and cofinite topologies. Properties of this set and certain relationships are studied, as well as examining a group of functions, like open, closed, and continuous functions, determining their relation with each

Generalized Heptagonal Membership Function for Fully Fuzzy Linear Fractional Programming Problems
...Show More Authors

Identifying the optimum solution that satisfies the restrictions and maximizes or minimizes the objective function is the aim of fully fuzzy fractional programming (FFFLP). Due to the inclusion of both fuzzy parameters and fractional variables, this problem is difficult to solve. Several approaches, including linear programming, nonlinear programming, genetic algorithms, and computational intelligence algorithms, have been suggested to handle fully fuzzy fractional linear programming (FFFL) problems. For describing the uncertainty, vagueness, or imprecision of information in the real world, triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy numbers are frequently used. Indeed, it is not always practical to limit the membership function

Timewise–dependent Coefficients Identification Problems for Third-Order Pseudo-Parabolic Equations from Nonlocal Extra Conditions

This study aims to find the time-dependent potential terms in the two inverse problems of the third-order pseudo-parabolic with initial and various boundary conditions supplemented by the overdetermination data. The nonlinear inverse problems have significant applications in physics and engineering fields. We proved the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the two problems are being proved, but they still need to be proposed (since tiny perturbations in input data cause considerable errors in the output potential term). Consequently, the regularized methods should be employed. A finite difference schema is used for solving direct problems. In contrast, the inverse problems were reformulated as nonlinear least-square minimization a

Evaluation of Optical Efficiency of Circular Cross-Section Torus Waveguide via Changing the Optical Parameters

The efficiency of solar systems was developed through the design of a torus waveguide, which provides high flexibility in the design of the solar system. The design was simulated using the optical design program (ANSYS Zemax Optic Studio 2022). The circular cross-section torus waveguide was shaped like the letters (U, S) to transmit solar radiation through total internal reflection inside the waveguide to the receiver (solar cell or thermal reservoir). To improve the solar system's efficiency, a group of optical parameters related to the waveguide's shape were changed to demonstrate the effect of changing them on the system's performance. These parameters include the radius of curvature of the waveguide, the width of the entry apertures,

Comparisons between these two methods were made by employing mean squares error criterion. Applying a simulation technique with different sample sizes, these methods are being compared.
